Hi,

I wanted to take my 9 year old for a long weekend with the free dining package 4n/5d. I can either go labor day weekend and she misses 2 days of school (4th grade) or the 1st weekend of Oct and she will miss 3 days?

I figure the crowds will be lighter on the 1st weekend of Oct but wanted to get some opinions from all of you!

Thanks a bunch!

My only comment is I believe that on October 2nd the rates go from value to regular which will cost more.
I just realized that this is post number 1000 for me.

I would definitely go the weekend of the 2nd of OCtober especially if you want a lower crowd. Labor Day will most definitley bring in more people! But as the other poster said, it's possible that this time frame will switch to "REgular Season" from "Value Season" (seems like right around Oct 1st or 2nd it changes) - so it depends on which means more - lower crowds, or lower room rate. REgardless, have a fabulous time!!!

When we were there in 2007, the Labor Day crown actually wan't too bad. But if you can go in Oct it will be even quieter.

Thanks for the responses!

We decided on the Oct 1st through the 6th weekend and got free dining still even though the dates went beyond the 3rd. Went for the lighter crowds.

I figure if I am going to pull my daughter and niece out of school for a couple days, one extra day wouldn't hurt!

I am hoping that the school is okay with it since she starts the 4th grade this year and where I live, the 4th grade is at a different school...

I would go in October the crowds will be so much lighter. Have you considered doing MNSSHP?

Oct. 2nd is my birthday and we've been twice that week. It's a great time for low crowds. That's my choice.

This year we go in June because thats the only time we can get our kids and grandkids all there. Not looking forward to the long lines.
