Very nice!

I was actually expecting this to be for QS dining only this year, or a tiered system depending on resort level.

Glad to see it's for Standard dining and all resort levels!

To reserve during the "Visa" dates, do I have to put the ressie on my card, or just be a cardholder?

Must the ticket be for length of stay? Or can the pkg. be for 3 nights/3 days?
(Sorry, I've never reserved with a requirement before.)

You only have to put your deposit on your card though ($200). You can pay the rest any way you want as long as it is paid up before 45 days out.

Yeah! I thought we weren't going to go this year since we just bought a house and had some stuff to do but extra consulting/curriculum writing jobs keep popping up right now for me and FREE DINING came out for the week BEFORE we start back to school (I'm a teacher) so WE ARE GOING!! Yeah! I'm pretty excited!!

Now I just have to find someone to watch the dogs : ) Probably dear old mom.

You will either need to book through someone like Magical Journeys - who will apply the discount when it becomes formally available, or call CR yourself after the discount becomes formally available to have them apply it to your reservation.

You cannot book yourself, or through CR, before the formal booking period and have the discount automatically applied to your reservation.

Can I check in on Oct 3rd to get the deal?
In the past you could and I hope it is the same for this year. My son's birthday is the 4th and this would be awesome.

This is the first time we have seen small print that read:

· The FREE DINING "Special Offer" Walt Disney World Resort Room Rates are not applicable to any nights after October 3, 2009.

So, until we actually try it we wont know for sure what the system does.

Yes - that's the beauty of booking through MJ.

Yes, you will hear from your agent.

Disney was having a few "system issues" this morning, so it was taking longer than anticipated to get the conversions done.

Does anyone know Disney's cancellation policy? I can't seem to find it anywhere? Also - do I HAVE to use my Disney visa for the deposit? I am not sure it has the deposit amount available! But I have it in the bank if I can use my check card!!

You must put a deposit of at least $200 on a Disney Visa to qualify for this promotion.

Disney's cancellation policy for packages is:
Cancellation is 45 days with no penalty. 6-44 days is $100. 0-6 days is $200. Changes within 45 days may incur fees.

This still isn't a better deal than the Buy 4 Get 3 Free deal and adding the Dining Plan on top, right?

PixieMagic
03-26-2009, 02:39 PM
It depends on what resort you are staying at....if you are staying at a deluxe - 4+3 is better...if you are staying at a value the dining is far better - and if you are staying at a moderate it is about the same....

Nancy posted this with the announcement on the first page:

"· The FREE DINING "Special Offer" Walt Disney World Resort Room Rates are not applicable to any nights after October 3, 2009."

From that, it sounds like Oct 3 is the end date for the premotion. Maybe you could do two reservations?

I am not saying that this is going to remain this way-

As of this moment you can book an arrival on 10/3 and get free dining for your entire stay.

Now, will the change that? Who knows

Do you have to purchase MYW tickets for the "length of your stay" or can you purchase a one-day MYW (for each member of your party)?

Anyone know which would be cheaper, the military discounted room and ticket plus dining at the Poly or free dining? Of course, I plan to ask my MJ agent when it comes out for the public but just wondered. I waited and waited for free dining to come out for Aug. and then got the military discount so hadn't worried about it since we can't use both but still would like to run the numbers and see which is cheaper.

We'll be there at Pop Sept. 5-12th. :woohoo:

After going the last two years, we had planned to take a break this year and do something else, but after much discussion, DW and I decided there really was no place else we would prefer to take the kids. And with "Free dining" :eat: and the airfare sales now going on, the cost is not much more than some of the other trips we had talked about.

You can't combine discounts with Disney. You would need to figure out which discount is better for your family and use that one.

Any guesses on how fast the rooms set aside for this deal are booking? We aren't quite final on whether we can swing this and if so, what dates we'll go...

Oh, we'd be probably looking at Poly, Garden view in Sept.

That is anyones guess. We do notknow how many rooms are allocated for any given set of dates, so it is nearly impossible to guess which will sell out and when.

You pay the difference between the Basic Dining plan and the Deluxe plan which would be $32 per adult/child over 9 per day and $10 per child 3-9 per day.
