I was just wondering if any of you have had to deal with this. On our last trip DW and I were in the 300 loop and we had a family 2 spots down who had brought a grill or two big enough to cook a whole cow on. They had them out in front of their RV and just about every morning 4 or 5 golf carts would converge on the place and have breakfast befor heading out for the day. In the evening once again 4 or 5 carts would show up for dinner and would sit around and party untill after mid-night . They were very inconsiderate to the other people staying there being loud and having a good time with lights bright enough to light a ballgame. Some times people had to wait untill they moved their carts out of the road so they could get by. This happened two or three nights we were there untill a CM finaly came to shut them down. We have stayed at th Fort a lot of times and this was a first for us. Just curious if anyone else has had a simalar experience?

Have had such experiences at other campgrounds but not at Fort Wilderness.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience once in FW when we had our popup. a couple in a site not far away started screaming at each other and the next thing we knew we could hear a beer bottle breaking over a head and the woman started screaming and crying.

It didn't take long for security to come. They got things settled down and got the people out the next morning.

Ordinarily though, things have been very quiet when we've stayed there.

Sounds like the Orlando PD should have been called to the site for the PP. That is not something that should happen any where especially not Disney World :(.

It reminds me of the show "What would you do". They shouldn't have just been asked to leave.

Noisy people are at the resorts too. We have had the families run up down thte walkways at the crack of dawn or late at night.

We've had that at WL - people leaving early and running down the hallways laughing and very loud. Very inconsiderate.

Last Year when we stayed at the Poly we had a family next door who were very loud in the morning. the mum would come into wake them up about 7ish and would shout till all the kids were out of bed. We usually didn't mind as we wanted to get up to get to the parks for opening but on our last day we wanted a bit of a lie in because we knew we had a really long couple of days of travel so it was a bit annoying when the mum came in and started yelling. So Both my sister and me sat upp and yelled - that we didn't want to get up yet - instant silence from the other room ( well for about 10 mins)

we did not have that at FW but have run into that problem at other campsites. We will be going with another family in two weeks (the same family we went with 2 years ago) and we make a point to keep the kids from running back and forth, yelling etc. it is very rude to the others there. We also tend not to "party" until the wee hours - I don't know if it is because of the kids or becausethere is too much other stuff to do at disney - but then again we do not do that anywhere we camp.

I think if there is something amiss you need to speak to a CM immediately. They cannot fix a problem they do not know about

well.... we are finally heading back in Oct. :cloud9:

as for noise... we haven't really had that in FW. However, in 2007 when we were last there... we had once incident where an older gentleman ran over our DD with his golf cart. After he knocked her down he yelled "you need to watch your kids" and took off. We were walking on the side walk and she was holdin my hand before he ran her over. I think he had been drinking. Then one morning we had a lady walking her dog in our loop (not a dog loop) which we didn't care... we love dogs, but she walked her dog over to the grass in front of our site and allowed her dog to poop and walked off and left it. I actually had to run after her and tell her to get it up... it was right at the grass area where our bicycles were parked. It's funny now... and nothing ever seems too bad at Disney anyway.

Lucky I don't camp - you people are all way to nice.

I would have asked the noisy people to please keep it down after a certain hour and if that did not work I would have called security.

As for noisey/rude fellow hotel guests - This is why we stay offsite in a rental home - so we can have our privacy and not get aggitated on our vacation.

Oh, this struck such a nerve with me!!! :thedolls:

Last month we were woken up at 12:30am by our neighbors at BCV, first yelling and laughing at each other as they were walking down the hallway, then when they got into their room it continued. Loud talking, laughing in the room then out on their balcony. I'm sorry, you have to know when you are being loud and inconsiderate. It went on until about 2am and started up again at 4am. I went out onto our balcony in the morning and they were out there smoking....these were not people in their 20's! They were in their late 40's at least. My DS came out and asked why I was yawning and I clearly and loudly stated "because someone was loud and inconsiderate in the middle of the night and if it happens again I'm calling the front desk"...I caught the guys eye and walked back into my room.

They were quiet that night and left the next day.

There are pros and cons to styaing at Ft Wilderness. The pros are that you have no neighbors that you share a wall with. Nobody above you or below you. Comparatively, you have more privacy than a lot of the resorts.

However...it is a community area. There is a bit more "randomness" to the neighbors. It's a trade-off.

But I will add this....you won't see holiday decorations on the rooms and golf carts at any other resort. Ft Wilderness is something unique and special!

this is why we always bring one of those huge window boxfans from home every trip. (very lightweight, but puts off a nice white noise!) we turn it on every night and we never hear anything outside our door. :)

We have had a few things happen, but as usual Disney makes it right, not that we ever complain. December before last we had a drunk and disorderly two sites down, bad enough that the next morning Disney Police escorted them off the property and when we went to check out Disney refunded one night's stay. We didnt expect anything, but was very pleased. Then this past December there was a large group at the beginning of our loop they kept the road blocked then had a parade around the loop with music blaring, drums beating etc. But it is all good. We are at DIsney and no matter what we always have a woderful and blessed time °O°

Same here at a couple of the Disney hotels. We've had noise problems at the campground from the marathon Disney sponsors in May. Very rude.

I am all about blocking out the noise. When in our trailer, if applicable, we run the A/C for noise. If not, we have "noise makers" that sounds like a fan turned on. It sure helps buffer the sound out.

We do the same thing...except we just use an actual fan.

Our motorhome is nicely insulated and the A/C drowns out any exterior noise. We sleep like a baby. Its when we are outside trying to enjoy a cookout or quiet chat when we wish people would respect others. This was true when a couple of young guys raced around with a gas powered golf cart with no muffler and fumes strong enough to kill mosquitos. They got a visit from security and that stopped them for the rest of their stay.

I have never once seen security inside Ft. W so it is nice to know they exist and are helpful in bad situations!:mickey:

I guess I assume noisy people can happen at any time at any place.

I just appreciate those places that handle it quickly.
