We will be staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness and was wondering about the Laundry facilities. Are they close to the cabins? Are they expensive? And does the resort offer laundry services? If so, is it expensive? Thanks in advance.

Each comfort station has 4 or 5 washers and dryers. If I remember correctly it is $2.00 a load to wash and $2.00 to dry. I'm pretty sure there is a pick-up laundry service for the cabin, but it is very expensive.
Here is a FW map (http://www.intercot.com/resorts/disney/maps/images/fwcg07.JPG). You can see were the comfort stations are.

You'll also find laundry facilities on the back side of the Wilderness Pool house (the small pool). We always start our laundry, swim a bit, move it over to dry and swim some more. It's rather convenient.

We generally stay in Loop 2500, 2600, or 2400 so this works well for us. However, if you are put in Loop 2100 the comfort stations in 1100 may be closer for you.

The cabin loops generally do not have comfort stations as they have no need for them. There is a laundry room by the Wilderness Swimming Pool between loops 2500 and 2700 and across from loop 2600. We would spend time at that pool while doing laundry.

I have done laundry at FW many times! It really helps if you pick a day that you have rented a golf cart. I have never sat with my laundry and never had any problems with theft. Doing laundry at FW makes laundry fun! The dryers do run on the HOT side, so be sure not to shrink those new disney t shirts.

We stayed in the 2600 loop. The laundry is a quick walk from there, right next to the pool. We found it to be very clean (and I'm kind of a stickler for cleanliness, so this is high praise) and convenient.
