Looking for information on Grand Floridian Tea. DW want to take our DDS (twins 9) and her good friend and DD (5). They don't necessarily want a character experience. They want some relaxing mother daughters time. Thanks

There's information about the Garden View Lounge's afternoon tea (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/gftea.asp) on InfoCentral.

It is a lovely experience and we try to go as often as we can. It's not a character experience, but it also is one in which children running around would definitely NOT be appreciated. Please don't take me wrong. I love kids and even have one of my own. I know he wouldn't have done well with this at 5 years of age. The china on the tables, the display of pastries on the sideboards, the slightly close quarters and the HOT tea are not conducive to children out of their chairs. But the DDs might really enjoy the grown-up experience (btw, they do have a children's tea service... the menu is included in the link above).

The Afternoon Tea is one of our very favorite things to do but I would probably not want to take a 5 year old there. The atmosphere is very sedate and hushed, the tables are small and contain quite a bit of tableware and as an adult I feel a need to be careful to not over turn things. I can't seem to remember ever seeing a child there under about 12 and then only no more than one at a table. I really think that a few little girls together might tend to get antsy. Like Ellen I to had children and now have grandkids too and know that they would not have enjoyed this tea at 5 and maybe not even at 9. I do think Disney does offer a Mad Hatter Tea that they might enjoy more.

I love the tea and think it would be great for your girls. It is really special and ladylike. They have a special menu option for kids.

This is a piece from my recent TR.

On to the afternoon tea! It really was great. Mom & Me both had the Grand Tea. Nova had the Mrs Potts tea.
Mom- Gardenview Blend. I didn't care for it, tasted like grass.
Me- Vanilla Rooibos, yummy!
Nova- Mad Hatter, she loved it. Fruity and we put lots of sugar

The chocolate strawberries were to die for! As was the English Trifle.

We were Stuffed. And Having finished Mom's Glass of Domaine Ste Michelle, I was looped, slightly.

Go. You will love it!
