Preference on 1st week vs 3rd week in Oct?

Does anyone have any experience with the 1st week in October vs. the 3rd week in October? (Skipping the week in between since Columbus Day falls there). We were there the 1st week in October and would like to go back during this time, but thought about going the 3rd week when it might cool off just a tad. It was still pretty hot when we went. Crowds were nice Mon/Tues/Wed but picked up quite a bit Thur/Fri (maybe because of the upcoming holiday that Monday). What was your experience with weather & crowds the 3rd week? Thanks.

October can be extremely variable in the weather. Usually it'll still be pretty warm both the first and third weeks, though. Crowds, in general, are larger the 3rd week due to a lot of schools now doing fall break around that time, but it's really not horrible either way.
