Just want to see what everyone's opinion is on their favorite resort that relies on transportation other than the monorail. It can be any category and have any other mode of trans. I have tried a couple but wasn't too thrilled ( except for the fact that I was at WDW). What am I missing out there?:mickey:

Beach club. You got walking access to two parks and the bus transportation is fabulous.

I prefer the monorail resorts to the extent that I don't stay anywhere else, but if I did I would probably try the Beach Club to take advantage of Stormalong Bay and the proximity to Epcot and DHS. In the moderate level, I have stayed at POR and it was a lovely resort but I missed being in sight of MK.

Boardwalk Inn or Swan (walking distance to Epcot and Studios) and excellent hotels.

Beach Club hands down. I actually prefer the transportation options at the Beach Club much more than the monorail resorts. A short walk to Epcot, a bit longer walk to DHS or quick boat rides to both.

And there is also the covnevience of walking to the Boardwalk. And don't get me going on the dining options available in that area as well. WS, Boardwalk, YC/BC, Swan, Dolphin etc.

I have yet to have the oppotunity in staying at a monorail resort. But it being my first experience with the DVC resorts not having tried any others yet. My only option is Boardwalk. I did love it there though. The walks to DHS and Epcot. The short quick boat rides. It is just conveniently located all together. :mickey:

Swan for price/convenience/transportation

WL for combo of convenience and theming

AKL for uniqueness of the "at resort" experience

Wilderness Lodge and we really liked Coronado Springs when we stayed there.

Beach Club hands down. We were always GF people until I took my kids alone for a long weekend. We went for Star Wars weekend and stayed at BC for it's proximity to DHS. Since that was the reason for our trip! Since then we have only stayed there. Try it, I guarentee you'll like it!

Beach Club, mostly for the location and the pool. Animal Kingdom Lodge because of the resort itself - the animals, restaurants, and pool make it one of our favorites.

it seems like a toss up so far between Wl and BC. i have been inside WL and enjoyed a meal at artist point but i have not stayed at either resort. i really like the theme of WL but i have been thinking of maybe staying at BC next time due to all of the great things people have been saying about it. i am sure i can't go wrong with either one. WL gets me closer to my favorite park, however, i absolutely can't do without epcot and BC is right next to it. hmm such tough choices!!! :)

So, Richard, just curious-- if the MK is your favorite park, why not a monorail resort? They do have other transportation options. Is it that you just want to try something new?

We have stayed at pretty much all of them and Wilderness Lodge is still the best! So much so in fact that while we had MANY options of where to purchase, we chose WL for our DVC home.

exactly. i love to stay at poly or CR but am not opposed to trying new resorts. i may have to branch out if they are booked up when i plan my next trip. just wanted to see some opinions on what else is out there. i have stayed at CSR and CBR and they were nice but not enough to make me want to keep going back. :mickey:
