Since they sent this out to you with a Pin, I'm wondering if that means they won't be doing the free dining like they have the past few years?

I received an email offer today with a PIN that included free dining.

The offer is for 4-Night/5-Day vacation package for a family of four in a standard room at "select Disney Value Resorts" with theme park tickets and the Disney Dining Plan. The dates included are "most nights 8/16/09–10/1/09." The teaser price is $1,284. The offer says that it includes "most meals" and "the Disney Dining Plan."

Based on this , I'd bet that free dining offers for the general public should be coming out in April.

I got the pin, too, but we're already booked for May on the 4/3 deal. My guess is this will be your dates for the general public "free" dining offer to be released some time this spring. I notice the 4/3 deal is extended through 8/15 and this pin starts the "free" dining on 8/16. Not a coincidence, I think.

Is it for free quick service dining or free basic dining? They have done free basic dining during those times in the past but I read rumors that they may do free quick service dining this year, since they have added that.

I'm waiting for this to get released publicly so I can switch my package to the free dining one! I've based my whole vacation around this stupid promotion :)

I looked at the email again, including the fine print, and it says nothing about the QS DDP, so I assume this is for the basic "regular" DDP.

I have to agree, this is most likely the Basic and not Quick Service.

Yes it is Basic Dining on the PIN offer.

The free Quick service was offered last year in the UK for their promo.(value and moderate resorts got free QS, Deluxes rec'd basic for 2009).

So the question is, will Disney follow the PIN for the general public offer or the UK promo?

My gut says the PIN, but I can be wrong.

I just got the e-mail with pin, and booked. The CM mentioned to me that this same offer might not go public, but the offer might be with the QS. Sounds like the general public might get what the UK did??

We got that too, but wish it was 7 nights. Can we use the pin code 2 times to turn it into an 8 night stay??

it is showing you an example of 4 night 5 day, you can use this offer for 8 days without issue.

What is included in the Basic Dining offer?

Last time we went, we missed the dates for the dining offer, which was good by us since we had a place with a kitchen and dietary restrictions. We'll have the kitchen again - but I'll need to at least think about the dining offer since it sounds like it might be offered during our time there.

And I might as well start thinking now in the cold of February before you e-mail me, Nanci, to ask if I want you to change my reservation! It'll give me something warm to think about!

The dining info is here http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/MYW/2009/2009basicdining.htm

and yep, I will be asking such questions in the future, hopefully!

It is valid at all resorts subject to availability. The campgrounds are not included in the offer however.
