We have a very early departure flight after our week at the AKL and we are looking at the possibility of staying at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport Hotel for the convenience. Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) at this hotel?
Thanks for any help.

NO, but I wish I'd thought of that! We had a 6:00 am departure, so spent Disney prices for a very few hours sleep - and had to catch the Magical Express at 3:00 am :alarm:

We've stayed there a couple of time when we had early departures and it was fine. The rooms were nice and it was fun to watch the comings and goings down below in the airport.

The nice part was the ability to sleep in a little.

Thanks for the input. I have cancelled my last night at the AKL saving $421.00 and booked our last night at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport for the CAA/AAA rate of $179.10, taxes included. Disney also will provide our Magical Express ride to the Airport, which I thought was good of them.
We will probably lose a few hours at the parks but save a bit of money (that rack rate is a killer) and will gain a bit of extra sleep. We think this to be a good trade.

We used to fly out of Orlando in the evening of the last day, until we decided to stay in the world an extra night and leave the next morning. But, having to rush in the morning to get to the airport wasn't fun.

So, a few trips ago, we decided to stay at the Hyatt at the airport and discovered that it was a much better way to travel home. We were using one of the private shuttles such as Quicksilver, and were able to request that the driver take us to the hotel instead of to the airport terminal.

Staying at the airport the night before your flight is the perfect way to end your vacation. You don't have the stress of leaving the resort early enough to allow for traffic, etc. You don't have the added stress of long lines at security with limited time to make your flight. Since you're not flying out until the next day, you can spend a relaxing last day at your resort and leave for the airport when you're ready.

Bell services at the Hyatt escorted us to the terminal check in, which was a big help. Now that we're flying to Orlando again instead of taking AMTRAK, we will always spend the last night at the Hyatt. For us, it's a perfect end to another wonderful WDW vacation.

Since the hotel is connected directly to the main terminal, you can always browse in the various shops or grab a quick bite at the food court. There are also some table service restaurants in the terminal. Or, you can really splurge and enjoy room service.

Enjoy!

We are doing the opposite this time. Our flight arrives late into Orlando. We are going to stay that night at the Hyatt and then leave in the am to head to Disney and enjoy the parks. I hope this works out for us.
