We are going to WDW in three weeks and staying at the Grand Floridian with a MK view. Is the view really worth the extra money? We have stayed at the Grand Floridian before but never with this view. We are celebrating DD 18th birthday and wanted it to be special.:mickey:

The view is incredible, well worth it. We loved our balcony looking out over the lagoon and the MK. We could even see Epcot's Spaceship Earth in the distance from our room. Here are some photos of our view:

Cinderella Castle (http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/12363/2442261690102098585S425x425Q85.jpg)

Space Mountain (http://inlinethumb60.webshots.com/35003/2903076220102098585S425x425Q85.jpg)

Contemporary Resort (http://inlinethumb15.webshots.com/43662/2650948000102098585S425x425Q85.jpg)

Electric Water Pageant (http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/43292/2184732130102098585S425x425Q85.jpg)

Spaceship Earth (http://inlinethumb63.webshots.com/42622/2731920210102098585S425x425Q85.jpg)

Fireworks were slightly obstructed. We couldn't see some of them off to one side. But our balcony was great for watching the Electric Water Pageant. We could also see the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian. We could watch the monorail and see the crowds arriving in the morning. It was just amazing. I think garden views at the GF are great, too, but the MK view made it a very memorable and special trip.

We stayed at the Contemporary with a MK view for Dh's 40th birthday. It was a great view but not really worth the money for us. We were never in the room to see the fireworks or anything. I think you'll love it and it's nice for a special occasion. :birthday:to your DD. I hope she has a magical birthday.:cloud9:

We stayed at the GF a couple of years back and did not have to pay extra for the view. We asked for a certain building and room and it was available when we checked in. We were there for our DD's birthday and it was worth it.

Just to clarify, the view is not classified as an "MK View", it's called a "Themepark View". Most of the rooms do offer a nice view of the castle and fireworks, but other rooms look more towards Space Mountain. If you are not happy with your view when you get inside your room, just ask about being moved.

We had a Themepark view room 2 years ago at the GF. We loved the view!!!! I ended up leaving the sliding glass door open onto the balcony all the time!!!! I loved having it open at night and we could hear them doing stuff at the MK. I don't know if they were practicing the shows or testing the intercom system or what, but we heard it a couple nights for a while and late at night, like after midnight. We really enjoyed the view from that room, we could see everything!!!!
