Jan. 17, 1999 – Disney’s half-hour comedy TV series “Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane” debuted on the WB Network.
Jan. 17, 1999 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Selma, Lord, Selma.”
Jan. 17, 2003 – “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” offially debuted at the Hyperion Theater at Disney’s California Adventure. (Although today is the official debut, the live stage show has been running since December 2002)
Jan. 17, 2003 – The Disney Channel’s new ˝ hour show “That’s So Raven” debuted.
Jan. 17, 2004 – A gala event was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Disneyland Hotel to celebrate the 90th birthday of animator and Disney Legend Bill Justice. (Some of his work included Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinochhio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi.
Jan. 17, 2004 – Roy E. Disney appeared at the meeting of NFFC-The Club for Disneyana Enthusiasts in California.
Jan. 17, 2005 – The Tokyo Disneyland nighttime show “Cinderellabration: Lights of Romance” began performances.
Jan. 17, 2007 – It was announced that the Disney Broadway Musical “Beauty and the Beast” would close at the Alfred Lunt-Lynn Fontanne Theatre on July 29, 2007 to make way for Disney’s next musical venture – “The Little Mermaid.”
Jan. 17, 2007 – The “Dream Along with Mickey” show marked an entertainment milestone for WDW. The show debuted its “talking” character technology in its newly upgraded show “Dream Along with Mickey Castle Forecourt” in the Magic Kingdom.
Jan. 17, 2008 – The “Disney’s Dreamers Academy Weekend” event for high-school students was held at WDW. (4-day event)
