travel system car seat question

At the airport I know you can have your stroller checked at the gate. Does this include the car seat that goes in the travel system strollers? Or will I have to check the seat seperate? We are flying Northwest.

Last time I checked, they could be gate-checked together. However, given the ever-changing nature of airline policies (think "$$$$"), it can't hurt to give NWA a call to confirm.
