Jan. 6, 1985 - The Hallmark Card Shop on Disneyland’s Main Street closed.
Jan. 6, 1985 – The Disney Channel Premiere film “Black Arrow” aired.
Jan. 6, 1988 – The Disney TV series “The Oldest Rookie” aired for the last time on CBS.
Jan. 6, 1992 – The “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” attraction opened in Disney-MGM Studios at WDW.
Jan. 6, 1995 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Houseguest” was released.
Jan. 6, 1997 - Disneyland’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” attraction in New Orleans Square, closed in preparation of its 30th Anniversary.
Jan. 6, 2002 – The 9th Annual Walt Disney World Marathon kicked off. A record field of 13,500 entrants took off for the event while another 5,000 entrants took part in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon.
Jan. 6, 2003 - Disneyland’s 6 million gallon Rivers of America was drained for renovations.
Jan. 6, 2007 – The Walt Disney World Half Marathon was held. Jarrod Shoemaker and Melissa White won the men’s and women’s divisions.
Jan. 6, 2007 – Bidding ended on the $250,000 Chicago house in which Walt Disney was born. The house located at 2156 N. Tripp failed to sell on E-bay after 30 days.
