View Full Version : Magical Journeys Question --- Bounce Back Offer

Over the past couple of years, I have become a devoted fan of Magical Journeys.

On our recent trip (September) we found the "bounceback" flyer in our room. I called and booked our trip for next September directly with Disney via the number on the flyer. Just this morning, I called and changed our reservation from POP to CSR.

Now, here's my question(s). Since I booked directly with Disney as specified on the flyer, can I still have my reservation handled by MJ? If so, is there any real benefit to MJ in doing this? Is there any real benefit to me in doing this.

For anyone who my be presented with this option in the future, would there have been a way to take advantage of the offer and use MJ to begin with?

Since MJ has been so helpful to me in the past I don't want to turn my back on them, and would be more than happy to turn the reservation over to them. However, if at this point there is no true benefit to them or me, then I guess we'll have to wait until next time.

Thanks
Mark

Just contact your rep at MJ and they will email you a transfer form to print out. After you fill it out and fax it back to them they can take over your vacation planning.

It is very simple...and then you don't have the headache of dealing with anything that might come up.

All you have to do is count the days and start planning where to eat...what to do first...you know, the fun stuff!!

We did the same thing in May. We already had a trip booked for October (CBR), but when we saw the bounceback deal for the GF, we booked that instead.

I called Melissa at MJ and she handled everything. She canceled our CBR ressie, and also sent me the form to transfer the new ressie to MJ.

Easy peasy.

Ok, I understand it's easy to do, but is there a purpose behind it other than "just because".

Assuming I don't need to make any changes, would it benefit MJ or me?

I'm not being resistant, and I totally appreciate the efforts of MJ with my reservations in the past. But in this case, the reservations are made, and "just because" does not seem worth the effort for MJ or me. No sense in making work if it serves no real purpose.

I would do it just as a precautionary measure. That way if something changes before your trip or there are any questions or concerns...you have MJ's on your side working out the details. You don't have to figure it out on your own.

Also, MJ's has been known to contact guests with up to date discounts or specials that can be applied to their all-ready-booked vacations.

Wouldn't want to miss out on any possible perks or discounts...

Good luck!

Well, by switching the reservation you support us and we in turn can support Intercot. We also keep up on issues, rates etc that can effect your stay. The year they closed POFQ, we had all our clients moved to their resorts of choice before the news hit the net.

There is no cost to you, just need a simple form filled out and sent back to us.

The money we make on reservations is what pays the bills for Magical Journeys and in turn for John and Intercot. This way Intercot does not have to turn into a paid subcription site (I do not know John's bills, but from having our own website 1/4th of the size of this I can imagine the costs)

The final call is always up to you of course!

And there you have it. There is definable benefit for both MJ and me. Therefore, it shall be done.

(actually, I pretty much knew the answer, just thought it wouldn't hurt to have it said publicly for the benefit of all the folks picking up on the bounce back)

Could we have contacted MJ while we were still at WDW to make the initial reservation for us using the bounce back, or did it require us making initial contact?

I believe you had to make the initial contact to book with the bounceback promo because you had to be currently staying on property. I have read that you could have asked them to add your MJ agent's name to your ressie when you booked, but still they may have told you you'd have to do the transfer.

I was told last yr when I booked our rms on the bounceback offer, that I would have to do the transfer forms later. I did, and as has been said, it was no trouble at all. For me, well worth it to know that I had MJ on the job to take care of a couple of issues that I knew would need a bit of attention later, and I wanted my agent to have the opportunity to be paid for my trip - as Nanci said, a way I could support them.

When I booked the bounce back for next September the woman I spoke to was very nice and since I had already started the reservation process for my room I had to do the transfer when I got home... HOWEVER during the same phone call I booked my moms room under Kathy from MJ right from the start. So for future reference just make sure before you even give any info you tell the person you want this reservation to go to whoever in MJ. The lady I was speaking to actually knew Kathy because they had talked on the phone so many times regarding clients reservations. She explained that you can't transfer the reservation over once they started taking all the info.

I certainly hope that rambling made sense lol.

My reservation is now resting comfortably in the talented hands of Magical Journeys.

Last year they actually asked me if I wanted my agent to handle it for me if I was going to book.
This year my friend Lori did the bounce back when we were there and she did have to fill out forms to have MJ named as the agent. Wendy took such good care of us, reminding us when to make our ADRs, about the party dates etc so that alone was worth having her handle it for us.
