Cast: Pogo & Patti, Experienced WDW Travelers.
Day One, December 11th. , Travel Day
We board the Air Tran Aircraft at 8:00 AM in 17 F. temps and light snow, and head south for a quick two hour and forty five minute flight arriving in Orlando just before 11:00. We experience or first ever Disney rain, “liquid pixie dust” as we were told by our first Disney Bus driver.
We check in at POFQ and find we have been upgraded to a “water view” room in building six. Very nice. We change into shorts and head for the Magic Kingdom and we are the only passengers on the bus. At MK we take our time walking down Main Street and we are in awe when we see the Castle. I’m a ten year old kid again.
We head to Pecos Bills for lunch and are quite surprised the liquid pixie dust has stopped. We walk on Pirates, Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. We have a 4:30 reservation for the Story Telling Experience and our character doing the story telling is Alice, from Alice in Wonderland. She is warm and funny and the kids are enjoying the story. So are we.
We arrive back at POFQ at 6:30 and go to the room to change for our “ice breaker” and when we arrive at Scat Cats, we are the only ones there. The rest of the gang arrives shortly after. Those attending were Mikki & Andrew, Rhonda & Robert, Cindy & Steve, Traci, Sarah, Deb, Beth, Beth’s son, Patti & I. I called Ken, aka Drummerboy, and pass the telephone around for all to say “hi”. A good time was had by all and we partied until 11:00.
The hugging contest winner was Rachel, closely followed by Sarah and Rhonda (tie) and Cindy ! You know what this means..... everyone needs to start practicing for next years contest. Apparently you don't hug enough !
We crawled back to the room to prepare for day two. :D
