When are you or your children off for spring break this year?

We are going March 12th to the 17th and I know that's not during Easter break but I'm afraid that other parts of the country are going to be off during that time.

Thanks for your help in advance! :mickey:

Hello NY. On Long Island we are off Feb 16-20 and then the week before Easter in April. The last 2 weeks of Feb thru the first week of April are Peak pricing...mostly I think due to college spring breaks. I think some of the southern schools might have some time off in March.

Lets see what other posters have to say....

2nd week of March here. We're off the 7th through the 15th.
With Easter being late, I think early March should be OK. Your week will probably be a little busy, but from looking at some crowd calendars, definitely manageable.

We don't have spring break, but DD's HS Music Dept is taking a trip to WDW during that time - specifically, March 10 - 15. A co-worker's son's baseball team is also traveling at that same. I'm expecting it to be a bit busy, especially if the reduced hours that are posted on the official website hold up.

My kids have Spring Break March 30-April 3. We are visiting WDW March 3-13. They will miss school but we went March 7-11 2008 and loved it. Crowds weren't bad at all. Weather was perfect.

Different parts of Colorado each have different weeks in March off (partially due to the ski areas...staggering weeks helps). My area of Northern Colorado has March 14 to 22 off, however the towns next to us have the following week off.

We get two weeks generally at Christmas and a week in March, no time in Feb. or April or around Easter.

Some districts around Denver and Colorado Springs are on year round school schedules so their dates really differ.

Illinois schools vary greatly, but our school district has scheduled March 23rd through the 27th as "Spring Break".

This is the first time since DS has been in school that spring break has not been the week before or after Easter. I can't figure this one out, and I wouldn't have even looked if it weren't for this post.

Ours is from March 23-27 that is Monday through friday. We don't attend WDW on spring break but it does seem like over half the state is leaving when we are driving down to St. Pete. We have driven over to the Boardwalk to check it out in years past for something to do and we ran into someone that works at my husband's school. He is an Assistant principal and I am a teacher but in another school system that keeps the same dates.:mickey:

Haven't seen too many with our dates - first week of April. I'm hoping since it close to Easter week - but not yet Easter week it won't be too busy for us.

Yes, ours is March 16-20th. But, you do not have to worry about my family being a part of the crowd at the parks that week...We will be on the DCL. :sail: Thank goodness for the kids sail free promo. And a BIG thank you to Kathy P. at Magical Journeys! :mickey:

March 16th thru 20th.

When I made a payment the other night the CM told us that lots of rooms are still available, and that none of the big school districts in Florida are off during that time period.

Easter break here in South Jersey is April 10-17.

I wonder what area's break have the largest crowds at WDW? I was there last year for Jersey's and it seemed like 3/4 of the people in the parks where from NJ/NY.

Probably because Easter is so late this year. Alot of the colleges start finishing in May, so April would be too late for them to have Spring Break. At least in my area, the school districts try to follow what the colleges are doing for spring break. That is why it seems like most of Texas is off the 16th thru the 20th.

Thanks PINK for the ?. Never thought of posting here--We in MO have different breaks depending on districts. Mine is March 16-20. Sounds like a good week. I love going in March--weather is great the past 2 years. Just went over Thanksgiving--never again. Just like July, but cooler. We went Easter week last year and loved it.

We normally take advantage of our school break to visit the Disney "playground" and this year is our year to go (yes!!!). We will be visiting the week of March 15.
We're always interested in getting feedback on when most school breaks are scheduled for the eastern U.S. as a means of anticipating the crowds.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Okay, I read through all the posts and does anyone have the 3rd and 4th weeks of April off besides MA and NH?

I was afraid it was going to be a very busy time, but maybe I was wrong...I'll just be dropping my "r"'s with the rest of the guests.

CT starts the day after Easter. I was able to get ressies at Le Cellier for dinner every night the other day, so I hope that is a good sign that the crowds won't be as bad as I first thought.

Way out here in the great Northwest, we're the week before Easter. Since we will be there for our spring break, I'm glad to see a lot of breaks happening either before or after ours. We got ressies at Le Cellier for Easter (and this was after the 90 day booking window was open), so hopefully most of our trip won't be too bad crowd wise.

This is the time period we went in 2007. We loved it. There were plenty of people, but the wait times were very short to none on almost everything. We used FP on the rides that were longer. One word of advice, wear a hat if you're waiting for a parade at DHS. My scalp was burned where I had a part in my hair!

My husband's spring break from Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne, IN, is March 7th - 15th. We booked our trip literally just a couple hours before Disney extended their promotion for the book 4 nights, get 3 free - which now doesn't include the week we're there! Talk about blessings! :mickey: I'm just worried now about that week being very busy since they excluded it...Thoughts?

that time of March is when most college kids are off and it's also when Canadian kids are off. Any week between President's Week in February and Easter in April, you can pretty much bet that there is gonna be some region that is off from school.

SInce so many people ask about crowds and spring break this time of year, I thought it may be good to have a thread like this. Where we can all post where we live and when the school spring break is in our area.

Wow, it looks like the weather can't be much better for people who plan on going down then!

Our Spring Break is April 13-17. It is usually this week in March but for some reason our district decided to change it to April. Last year, we actually had two weeks, one in March and one in April. That made no sense to me. Must not have to anyone else either because this year they went back to one week and moved it to April. They are already talking on the local news about the traffic getting heavy here with Spring Breakers heading to FL so just watch the speed limits and crazies. The law enforcement is out in droves watching the roads.
