We will be flying out of the Minneapolis/St Paul airport and was wondering if you guys have tips on finding the best airfare? So far the lowest is $319 per person with Northwest. Southwest will be doing some trial flights starting early next year with just some flights from here to chicago. We are going to WDW Sept 25 to Oct 3rd 2009.

I get the best airfare with Southwest. I downloaded Southwest Ding and I get updates every day on any specials. Typically for September flights I've gotten good airfare in July. You just have to keep checking.

I looked on the Northwest website just now and the price for the flight I was looking at went from $319/person to $269/person. So I figured that is $100 cheaper for the 2 of us then it had been for a while so I bought them. Of course for now NW has a baggage fee, $15 for 1st bag.

I use Yahoo Fare Chase, plug in my dates, and let the site do the work. It sorts thru all of the airlines and posts the flights in order of cost. I love it.

Keep researching until you find a rate you can live with.

If your flying out of MSP you need to be looking at Sun Country or Air Tran as the cheapest flights. If you fly middle of the week they each have some 109 each way deals next spring. Flying on weekends will get similar 300 price. Try flying Tues-Tues or Wed-Wed. You will get lower prices unless it's spring break time or easter.

We usaually use Sun Country, it was very cool upgrading to 1st class for $75/person, but for some reason you can only book flights through Apr 2009.
