Day 1: DD and I were arriving at 10:30AM on Friday 11/21 with the rest of the family arriving at 6:30PM. DD and I arrived on time, got right through DME, loaded the bus and on our way to WL 2 minutes after boarding. We arrive by noon and are checked in without the room being ready, no big deal because it was expected.

DD and I toured the resort, looking at the Christmas tree, decorations, and everything else it had to offer. All was good until a duck bit her finger :crying: It wasn't too bad, but she was a little scared of them the rest of the trip. She got a hair wrap and enjoyed it. We relaxed by the pool until she finally dozed off. She slept for an hour and a half. I hoped to get a nap in also since I was up most of the night closing out work, but she woke right after our room was available at 4PM.

Off to MK we go for :santa: MVMCP. We get to MK about 4:30pm. Head straight to Dumbo and it was only a 15 minute wait. We head to ToonTown to check out Barnstormer and the Fairies. The Fairies was a 2-hour wait. We walked into the Princess line. No one was there. My DD was escorted in by Cinderella to meet Aurora and Belle as well. The three of them played with her there for 15 minutes until the next person showed up. She had the three to herself for 15 minutes and guess what...I didn't think to take the video camera out. I have a lot of pictures, but no video . We hit the Carousel and got an evil look from a lady when I was putting DD on Cinerella's horse. We were first in line, so I did not care. It was the only time I would attempt to do it, so too bad for her. We hit a few more Fantasyland rides before MVMCP starts.

Right at 7PM, Belle and Beast come out for those magnificent pictures in her Christmas gown...how beautiful. DD loved and was a little skittish of Beast. We head back to ToonTown to catch the Fairies. It only took about 20 minutes, but well worth the wait. They were taking families in one at a time. It was perfect. She played with Tinkerbell, Fawn, and Silvermist for about 2 minutes each before we were sent on our way.

We make our way to the parade route in Frontierland and found a spot only one deep. However, it was about 6 adults and they refused to let little kids sit in front of them. No big deal. About 20 dads had their sons and daughters on their shoulders, the lineup was about 6 people deep right before the start of the parade. Then, the people in front of us wanted all of us to move so their party could move up and push us back. It was too bad that none of us were willing to move and they could not get up front or see over us to see the parade. It was perfect justice listening to the hoards stuck behind us not able to move in front and the dads around me just looked in agreement at one another and laughed at those behind us. Lesson here is to be a little more friendly to people, especially those that will need to be convinced to move to let your family squish in front of them. Also, don't send 6-7 people to hold space for 30. If you have that many people, get them all there ahead of time. They did eventually move because their family could not see the parade. I think they learned the errors of their ways at this point and they will be more considerate in the future.

We make our way to Casey's Corner to meet with the rest of the family once they got there at about 9PM. Great spot for Holiday Wishes and I think I got a few nice pics with my new camera. Unfortunately, this would be the only fireworks show I get to see because the family as a group were to indecisive, took far too long to make a decision, and were always too tired to do something. I get the evil eye because I want to take my DD to see these night-time shows. Family was tired and only spent an hour at the party. DD and I left at about 11PM.

It was a great first day to the trip. DD and I had a blast.

Looks like you had a great first day. I had to laugh about your expierence at the parade. I think we have all had an expierence like that at Disney before. I just don't get people some-times. DH and I always let little ones stand in front of us at a parade. It's just the right thing to do. Karma is sweet though, isn't it? Can't wait to read more.....

Sounded like a great first day. Good idea waiting on the fairies until after the party started. I hope they keep them for a while. We won't be back until late next year. I don't do a lot of the parades for that reason. People now a days are just rude when it comes to sharing with little kids. It's not like an adult can't see over a kid, especially a sitting kid. Can't wait to read more. Thanks for sharing.:mickey:
