I admit that I've never seen a James Bond movie ... but DS11 has been asking to watch them and I don't know if they are appropriate or not. Which movie, in your opinion, would be the best for him to watch? I didn't even realize there were so many to choose from!!! TIA :)

I would say that all of the movies have violence and some kind of overt sensuality. What I would do is watch for them on TV... usually networks like Spike will run "Bond-a-thons" during this time of year. Any really bad stuff will most likely be edited out. I feel like there is always one on Thanksgiving...
I can't say for certain as it's been a while since I've seen them all in their entirety, but I believe that Roger Moore was the most kid-friendly of the bunch. I'm sure we have some Bond experts on the board however who could be of more help!

Might as well start at the beginning... "Dr. No."

He'll be fine. I saw "The Man With The Golden Gun" in the theater when I was 9.

My 10 year old loves them, and started watching with 'Casino Royale'. We have them all on DVD, so he's catching up that way.

If you aren't sure, it is a good idea to try and catch an edited one on TV.

My boys have always watched James Bond movies (they are now 4 and 10) and I was hooked myself as a child. I keep the remote at hand in case we need to skip a sensual situation...but we all really enjoy them.

I grew up watching Bond movies from about 6 years old on. I guess I remember my Mom saying that some stuff might not be "uhhh...appropriate"...but...I guess it didn't bother me. When they "kissed" I covered my eyes anyway.:scared:

IMO theres nothing in any Bond film thats any worse, content wise than any prime time show on TV.
That being said start at the beginning..Dr.No and so on.
If you happen to have a Blu-Ray player the Sean Connery/Bond films are out on Blu-Ray and they are outstanding.
I watched Thunderball last night.
