Does anyone know if the list of participating restaurants for 2009 is out and if not when it may be out?

It's usually not finalized until sometime in December, and even then it occasionally goes into the new year.

It is on Disney.com. You have to check for a reservation then look in the dining options. there is a link to the 2009 plan.

Just be aware that the version on the Disney website is not the final version. As was previously stated, the list is usually not finalized until sometime in December or just after the first of year as the non-WDW owned restaurants have until the end of the year to decide if they want to be part of the 2009 plan.

Also have heard that the Pepper Market at the Coronado and several World Showcase restaurants will NOT participate in the Dining Plan for 2009. Also, rumor has it ONLY two Downtown Disney restaurants will be participating. It seems whatever restaurants that are owned or run by Spring Foods will drop out of the dining plan because they are losing money.

This has been happening for the last few years. At the last minute, Disney works out a deal with Spring Foods to get them to accept the Dining Plan. Will just need to wait and see what happens...

Does anyone know which restaurants are operated by Spring Foods?

I understand that and I hope you are right. But several people who work for Disney have indicated that this is the way Spring Foods is leaning this year.

My question is when they offer free dining plan next year are they going to offer the counter service dining plan or the standard dining plan that comes with the TS meals? I Love the idea of having the free dining cause it allows us to spend more money on our room, so disney gets the money anyways, and then some but I have to admit, I will be a little sad if they start offering their bonus deal of free dining with only counter service dining. That is a great way for us to try new foods that otherwise we would not have tried and then 6mths later have to buy because we are hooked!

I can see them not including Pepper Market. I love to eat there, but I am sure the money they get from Disney for each CS credit is nowhere near close to how much it cost for a CS meal there, as they have such an extensive and varied selection. I mean, you can get a ribeye steak or grilled tuna for a CS credit! I'm sure they are losing money on Pepper Market. I would think the amount of money lost at the Epcot restaurants is not as severe.

Maybe a compromise? They'll drop Pepper Market from the Plan, but keep the World Showcase restaurants. If Disney ends up with a lot of the World Showcase restaurants not on the plan, Disney is going to see a large drop in the bookings for the Dining Plan and Spring Foods will probably be seeing more empty tables.

I absolutely agree with you. And as I said on one of the other boards, Spring Foods will lose even more money if they drop Pepper Market because a typical family is not going to spend the money they charge for their meals (I'm sure the convention people will as they can more than likely get reimbursed).

When I made my ADRs I asked for a restaurant in the Downtown Disney area and they told me Captain Jack's so that is what we booked. We wanted to go to Planet Hollywood but they aren't on the dining plan

Just wondering if anyone has any inside info on the update of the DDP restaurants. Have any been added yet or confirmed as not participating?
