Nov. 10, 1891 – Carl W. Stalling, “the most famous unknown composer of the 20th century,” was born. While working as the house organist in Newman Theatre in Kansas City, Stalling would come to the attention of Walt Disney. He would be hired as musical director for Walt’s fledgling animation company.
Nov. 10, 1917 – Marie Worthey (the future wife of Disney animator Ollie Johnson) was born in Bridgeport, Ct. From 1940-1941 she would work in the ink and paint departments at both Warner Brothers and Disney.
Nov. 10, 1923 – Disney Legend Neil Beckett was born in New Zealand. In 1964, he would become Disney’s sole merchandising representative in his home country.
Nov. 10, 1933 – The Fox Film Corp. released the musical “My Lips Betray” (featuring actor Herman Bing, who would later voice the Ringmaster in Disney’s 1941 “Dumbo”) to theaters. The first sen showed a portion of the Mickey Mouse film “Ye Olden Days” on a TV!
Nov. 10, 1944 – Lyricist Tim Rice, who would contribute to such Disney classics as “Aladdin” and “Aida,” was born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
Nov. 10, 1948 – Character actor Vincent Schiavelli, who appeared in Disney’s 1995 TV remake of “Escape to Witch Mountain,” was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Nov. 10, 1954 – The Disneyland TV series presented James Algar, the producer-director of Disney’s “True-Life Adventures” shorts. A behind-the-scenes look at how the feature length “Vanishing Praire” was filmed and shown. The Oscar-winning “Seal Island” was also featured.
