Hayden Need Some Pixie Dust Please

Hey everyone, this has always worked in the past. We just got back from the doctor's office and Hayden has pnemonia in his right lung. With his disease pnemonia is bad so we would like to ask for all the pixie dust, prayers, good thought and anything else you have for him please. Fortunately we started him on an antibotic yesterday so hopefully once that gets in his system good he can fight through this. Thanks for everything and I will keep you informed.

I can only imagine how hard this can be on your little guy. My son has severe Asthma and that leaves him open to getting pnemonia which unfortunatley he seems to get every year. You are not prying and I never mind talking about my son. When Hayden was a little more than 1 yr old he was diagnosed with a rare neurological degenerative disease called Krabbe. It only affects 1 out of 250,000 children. To put that in perspective he was born in 2006 out of all the babies born in North Carolina in 2006 he was the only one to be diagnosed with this disease. Basically the disease attacks the peripheal nervous system, his motor skills inparticular and is usually fatal by the age of 2. At the time he was diagnosed they gave us a prognosis of 6-9 months. Well Hayden just celebrated his 2yr and 9mth birthday at Epcot on October 10! So he has blown the doctor's orginal expectations by a year and one month. And we have been fortunate enough to celebrate four of his birthdays in Disney World which he loves (especially meeting Mickey. He was the third face he ever recognized) Since he was diagnosed I have had to ask for pixie dust I think three times and every time it has worked wonders and we are expecting nothing less this time. Eva and I are already astounded by the responses we have gotten in just the couple of days this thread has been up. Thank you all so much and I will keep you informed.

Well since I don't know how to update my original post I will just tag it on here.

First of all thank you all so much for all of your support, prayers, and pixie dust.

Hayden seems to be doing better. Eva and I are cautiously optimistic. He seems to be feeling better and acting more like himself although he still has to be on his oxygen for now. More than likely we will start another round of antibiotics we usually have to do two for just a sinus infection for him so with this being pnemonia it would be understandable. Today is my first day back at work since last Tuesday and I have to tell you I DON"T WANT TO BE HERE!!! But we still have to have money to pay the bills. Don't worry I have my cell phone on me and if Eva needs me for anything I can be there in less than 15 minutes.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give you all an update. Hayden seems to be not feeling as well. He is still alert and somewhat talkative when he is awake and his oxygen levels and heart rate seem to be ok, but his nurse is still saying he is having a lot of trouble moving air through his lungs. We have gone back to the amoxicilan and will be using that until it is out. I had to come in to work today, gotta keep paying the bills and I have to say I hate being here. I will keep you all informed and let you know how he is doing. Thank you all so much. :mickey:

Hey everyone just thought I would give all of you an update.

As of right now Hayden seems to have leveled off. He is very comfortable and doesn't seem to be suffering or in any pain. His nurse says she has no idea why he is still here. She can only hear air coming in and out of the top half of his left lung the whole right and the bottom left seem to be completely filled with the pnemonia. So if anyone ever tells you there is no such things as miracles just tell them about Hayden. I am staying home now almost everyday, fortunately there is a fund our social worker told us about to help us with our bills. This really made me feel better about being at home.

Just wanted to give everyone an update on Hayden. Although physically he is the same air is only coming in and out well in one part of his left lung and the rest is very congested he seems to be feeling better. Much more alert and acting more like himself. Even to the point we are starting to plan our Feburary trip again. Just making dining reservations we will make room reservations when we get our tax money back.

Thank you all again for all of your support love prayers and most improtantly pixie dust. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I know I will. I am thankful for another one with Hayden!!!! :D
