10/22 An exciting day for us as we were able to keep our trip a secret from DS till this morning! We woke him up (at the same time the bus was pulling away without him) around 7:30. We videotaped telling him. At first he was kind of confused and concerned - did we tell his teacher? Did we pack for him? Then it was all smiles!:mickey:
Our fabulous direct flight on Southwest from Buffalo to Orlando was on time and perfect, except for one grouch who apparently hates all kids. Security and check-in were fine as well, I was surprised at the long lines given it was 10am.
Magical Express was waiting for us, literally, we hopped on and immediately took off. Our hotel, the Polynesian, was the first stop. Rooms were ready, in Toukleau. Good location for us. We liked how big the room was so DD could run around, we did have to ask twice to get a crib. Like others have said, it was dark in the bathroom. However, little tip, you can remove the tiki sconces on either side of the mirror for more light.
While MIL and I went to our rooms, DH, FIL and kids went to ride the monorail, a ride in itself for DS. They got to ride in front! Hey - that was MY dream for this trip!!! My dream would come true later on...
Dinner at Ohana. Short wait, Good food, excellent service, fun atmosphere. Would love to do again. After dinner, DH and DS went swimming, I checked out the shopping of course. It was wonderful to watch wishes from the beach in lounge chairs, just wonderful. Only wish we could've heard the music. Off to bed, pretty darn tired.
Side note - we usually go this time of year and encounter low crowds...not this time!! No recession hitting WDW yet.
Up next: Magic Kingdom for DD's 2nd birthday with Pooh.
