Oct. 25, 1904 – Disney animator Vladimir “Bill” Tytla, whose most famed masterpiece is Stromboli in Disney’s 1940 “Pinocchio,” was born in Yonkers, N.Y.
Oct. 25, 1924 – Billy Barty, the original voice of Journey into Imagination’s “Figment,” and has credits in Disney’s 1990 animated feature “The Rescuers Down Under,” was born in Millsboro, Pa.
Oct. 25, 1941 – Singer-actress Helen Reddy, who has credits in Disney’s 1977 “Pete’s Dragon,” was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Oct. 25, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Guest Star Day” on ABC-TV.
Oct. 25, 1957 – Voice actress Nancy Cartwright was born in Dayton, Oh. Her Disney credits include “Kim Possible,” “Goof Troop,” “Timon & Pumbaa,” “Aladdin,” and the features “The Little Mermaid,” and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” (TV fans know her best as the voice of Bart Simpson.)
Oct. 25, 1965 – Florida Governor Haydon Burns confirmed the rumors that Disney is planning to build a park near Orlando.
Oct. 25, 1968 – The day’s issue of LIFE magazine featured Mickey Mouse’s 40th birthday with illustrations of Mickey watches from the 1930’s along with new Timex watches retailing for $12.95.
Oct. 25, 1970 – Actor/singer/dancer Adam Pascal, who starred in Disney’s Broadway show “Aida,” was born on Bronx, N.Y.
Oct. 25, 1971 – The formal dedication of WDW took place with Walt’s brother Roy officiating. Arthur Fiedler conducted the World Symphony Orchestra at the base of Cinderella Castle.
Oct. 25, 1973 – The TV special “Walt Disney – A Golden Anniversary Salute” aired.
