If I have a ticket that I've purchased (via the internet), and I'm unable to go on my trip, can I get a credit for what I've spent (for a future trip on SouthWest), or would I just lose the money?

Sorry you have to cancel :(

Southwest provides a credit for the amount of $ that the ticket cost you.

They allow one year from the PURCHASE date to use the credit. So, you have to complete your travel within one year from the purchase date.

If your future ticket costs more, they let you use the credit towards it. If it costs less, you are out the extra.

I would be sure to cancel it online through SW as soon as you know for sure that you won't be using it.

Hope this helps!

If your purchased a business class ticket on SW you will get a full refund back to the credit card you paid with. Other wise you will get a credit as previous poster mentioned.
