I know it's early but it looks like 2009 may be more promising than we thought for airfares. We already booked for next August-- Omaha to Orlando roundtrip was $220 each so I couldn't pass it up, even if it was over 10 months early. Now I'm wondering if we should have waited since fuel costs keep dropping. Still, start checking if you know your dates as I've seen several good fares at this point, some of them through next September. Good luck fare shopping. Mark

Thanks for the heads up! I heard on TV recently that because of the drop in fuel prices that the fares might be coming down somewhat.

I haven't been looking for Orlando fares, but I've found prices beginning to moderate on some others routes within the past couple of weeks. Let's hope it is a trend.

I keep checking for prices for my Feb 09 trip even though I have my tickets already.

I agree! We booked for both our April trip and our July wedding trip! Both under 250 round trip!

Now lets see if as prices go down if they lift fees on baggage, etc.

Very doubtful they will, all such a scam.

The airlines are going to start to make HUGE profits now, they're "hedging" fuel at decent prices so hopefully this will be good for us. Maybe no more paying for a "coke" onboard like my last flight to Vegas, it was almost cheaper to have a  ITA on the baggage charges to offset fuel costs, that is awful IMO!!

See, I really didn't want to know that because now I will get all depressed when I find a lower fare than what I bought our tickets for for our April trip which was just a little over 1000 but bare in mind that that is for 5 people. So all in all I think we did fairly well.

Uh, you guys are lucky. I'm coming in March from California and right now, fares are at LEAST $400 round trip. And those are the less desireable airlines, and the worst departure times...

Last time I flew to WDW (Feb 07), I paid $220 round trip...
