What to do with a long weekend day 1 Friday oct 10th
We had chosen to surprise our son with a trip to WDW and made plans for a two night stay at the poly & one night at AKL. We had never been to AKL and we hadn’t been to the poly since the refurb.
We flew southwest another first & arrived on time. We found the boarding to be quite smooth by the way. We were met by quicksilver promptly, good grocery stop and all. It was a pleasant experience.
We checked in and our room wasn’t ready (since it was after 3pm this was a little bit of a drag but we used the time to go get our AP’s and then our dining card which you can’t get at the ticket and transportation but only in the parks) After all that bopping around our room was now ready so we changed and went to dinner at Citrico’s which was beyond fantastic! We really enjoy the food here and our third time didn’t disappoint at all.
We went to epcot for illuminations and a ride on mission space. The crowds were quite heavy but we found a spot and enjoyed the show. We took a cab to the resort from Beach club and the guys went for a swim. All in all a great first day!
