So we're trying to collect all the info we can about DVC before we take the plunge...

I've never owned a timeshare before. Am I going to owe property taxes to Orange County, FL? Does owning DVC have any affect on taxes?

Thanks for your help!

The answer to both of your questions is Yes. The way the property tax and maint. fees work is that the DVC has a dollar value per point on the total points you own. They will send you a statement at the end of each year for payment. Your payment will be made to DVC and they will take care of the where the money goes from there end. As to your next question owning a DVC could effect your taxes but to your benefit. If you finance it through your local bank as a "Home Equity Loan" you would have the interest paid as a write-off on your tax returns.

You can also deduct the interest paid if you finance through Disney.

I'm alittle confused. Are those property taxes included in your maintanence fees? Or do yo have separate property taxes on top of Maint fees? Thanks.

The property taxes are paid out of your yearly maintenance fees.
