Day 8 - 1st stop on the Cruise, Castaway Cay!
So this morning we were up early and enjoyed watching us dock in Castaway Cay. We were facing the beach side and it was just beautiful. So once we were dressed and ready we headed to grab a quick bite to eat. I have to say, for a cruise, I never felt like we overate at all!
We were so excited for our first stop off the boat. Up first was a pic in front of the ship. Then we opted to walk to the beach area instead of taking the tram. It was a beautiful sunny day. We had a lot planned today. DD and I snorkeled and had a great time searching for underwater items. We never did find the hidden Mickey however :(! DH sat this one out. We then headed over to get our bikes. This was a great way to see the island. I highly recommend renting them. We had such a great time.
Once the biking was over, we looked at the shops and by this time we were getting hungry so we opted to eat lunch. What a great spread they have for lunch on the island! Way too much food, but all very good. With bellies full and our floats in hand, we headed to the water. We floated around for a while and then DD decided she wanted to snorkel again. So off we went. This time we saw a school of fish! DD was totally freaked out by this! The one fish swam up to her face and then swam under her! She was thrashing around like a maniac! You would have thought it was a great white or something!
We headed back to the boat around 3 to get some showers and get cleaned up for a night on the ship. We strolled around, checking out things we had missed before. Caught a game show in Studio Sea which was alot of fun. We also caught a game of Bingo, which would end up costing us quite a bit of money! I would be better off in a casino, lol!
By this time it was time to head back to the room to get ready for dinner. Tonight we were dining at Lumiere's. We were able to get in a few pictures with characters and a professional shot of DD prior to dinner also. Dinner, at this time, is completely a blank. I know that we ordered, DH and I ate, DD picked, and we had to leave early once again!
After dinner, DD and I headed up to the 9th deck for the Pirates in the Caribbean Party! We got there too late to get a good spot, but we were able to see a little. Well DD was really getting into the party and the skies let loose! It started to pour! They ended up canceling the party for the evening. We were very disappointed!
We grabbed some ice cream, and headed down to the shops. DD and I did some browsing and then headed back to the room for some shut eye. DH was already way ahead of us! Hanging out in the sun all day takes it's toll! It rained and stormed all night, but the cruise to the Bahamas was very smooth.
