In our experiences, cutting through the outskirts of Dinoland USA was quicker than going through Asia.

Geographically the distance is debatable between the the two routes, but we found it much less crowded to cut around Dinoland and enter the Asia through its "back entrance".

Prior to enter the main thoroughfare of Dinoland there is a path to your left that somewhat hugs the waterfront. That winds back to the backside of Asia where there is a bridge that ends right at Expedition: Everest.

See the Animal Kingdom park map (http://www.intercot.com/themeparks/animalkingdom/maps/animalkingdom.asp)for a visual.

:ditto: That's pretty much the route we use too.

I've always gone through Asia, guess because the Fast Pass distribution is closer to the Asia area then over towards Dinoland.

One of these days I'll try the other way just to see.

We walk through Asia via Africa so we can pick up our Safari fast passes along the way to Everest.

As for actually answering your question...I'd go the Dinoland route.

Last May, I walked with purpose through Dino Land and was one of the first to get to a fastpass machine.

We almost always go through the Dinoland area it is usually fastest the only time it isn't is if the Finding Nemo show has just let out. Then there is sometimes a backup since the theater is getting empty.

If you're going the route that takes you by dinoland, here's another tip...

Once you cross the entrance bridge, hang a right into the shops. Follow the back wall of the shops and you will exit across from the Flame Tree BBQ.

This can save a minute or two, as there always seem to be masses of people standing in the middle of the walkway, staring at their map, trying to figure out where to go first. The shops are usually empty in the morning. Not a huge time saver, but definitely an aggravation saver.

BTW, if there are super-huge long lines at the turn styles, go into the Rainforest Cafe gift shop and turn right... you'll exit the giftshop and find a single, quiet, short-lined turn style waiting just for you.

If you are asking about how to be among the first on the ride at park opening, it really doesn't matter which way you go. After the rope drop two CMs will lead the way from the Tree of Life to Everest via Asia. You are not allowed to pass them. If you go the Dinoland route you will encounter two more CMs waiting in front of Nemo. They will escort you from there. The CMs coordinate with each other so that both groups arrive at the attraction at the same time.

Yup. I was able to beat the crowds every time.

The route from DinoLand to Everest is definitely a quick way to travel around the park. We were there in August and each time we used it, the path was very light with traffic while other areas were quite heavy.

At park opening, I would recommend using the DinoLand route. When we used in during our visit, we were only 2 of about 10 people that used the route. We did arrive at the same time as the much larger crowd that followed the other more popular path. However we were at the front and were able to grab a fast pass and then get in the stand by line. We rode Everest within 10 minutes of park opening.

After riding Everest, I would recommend heading to DinoLand. We did and the area was very quiet. We were able to ride Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur with no waiting.

Dinoland route is much faster...but avoid the Nemo line. Sometimes it can look like the path is blocked and not moving, but its because all the people in line for Nemo spread out
