I know, I probably missed it somewhere...but WHY oh WHY did they change the school bread? It's about HALF the size now (like donut sized), and has just a smidgen of custardy filling in it.

DH and I were SOOOOO disapointed!! :(

It is proably just a means to cut costs. I think Disney is hurting just like everyone else and we just have to be understanding and hope that the economy gets better. Until then I think that this is probably the way things will be. Smaller portions for the same price.

Oh, No! I was so looking forward in 2 weeks. But thanks for the warning!

Smaller portions for the same price.
Same as your box of breakfast cereal. Smaller boxes same price. Its not unique to Disney.

Yeah, we noticed it was much smaller when we were there in May. Oh well, at least I got to try one when they were still the original size.

Seriously, though, I'd could understand reducing the portion size by 20%, but seriously, it was the size of a donut.

I pointed at it through the glass and said to the CM, "That can't be school bread? Is it????"

VERY dissapointed! :(

Actually it sounds good to me. I always thought the old school bread was way too rich and sweet. A smaller portion with less custard sounds just right.

That is what I was thinking too :)

Thanks for the warning! I was looking forward to one with a nice coffee while we're there in February, but 1/2 the size and the same price? I might just take the coffee.......

We just had our first one two weeks ago so I dnon't have anything to compare it to but it was much bigger than a doughnut. It took three of us to finish it and there was a ton of custard. For $2.50 we thought it was a lot of food for the price at WDW.

Of course, now that it's only 1/2 the size, it's 1/2 the price too.:rolleyes:Yeah, I know-not likely!

I did notice that it was a little smaller, but what really surprised me was the topping. It used to be a white icing holding the coconut, but now it looks like more of a chocolate or possibly caramel, it is definitely dark in color where it used to be white. I was nervous at first, but I think it is actually improved the schoolbread a little (I honestly did not think that was physically possible), it seemed to be a little sweeter.

Man.....and I was looking so forward to the school bread - almost as much as the infamous Dole Whip.
I will still get one of course....but since they are so small, maybe two.

Sorry to ask but where do you buy school bread? I can't believe I haven't had this yet:secret: I read one post that mentioned coffee, does that mean there is good coffee served here as well?

And like a previous poster, I remember buying it for breakfast the next morning-it made for a great breakfast!
