Thinking of going to WDW for Thanksgiving in 2009. What restaurant would be best for Thanksgiving dinner? We will have 5 yr old and 2 yr old with us. Thanks.

Most restaurants in WDW tweak their menu on Thanksgiving day to celebrate the holiday. Most offer traditional Thanksgiving fare, or Thanksgiving fare with a twist..(ie-Ohanas might offer a Thanksgiving meal that has a tropical twist)

We will be there also for Thanksgiving of '09 and are looking forward to Hoop-dee-doo for our dinner that day. We have heard it is a fun time and is worth the 2 TS coupons on the DDP. Last year for Thanksgiving we did the Luau for Thanksgiving and that was also a good time. We had a 4 yr old and 9 yr old with us and they loved it as well. There are so many choices! :turkey:

I recommend Liberty Tree Tavern in MK.
They have turkey, roasted pork and flank steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and stouffer's mac'n'cheese. Our kids LOVE the macncheese and potatoes there.
It is like a thanksgiving dinner everyday, and the characters are a plus, and they get you in and out of there efficiently, so the kids won't get bored.

Liberty Tree is doing away with character dining.

We were at the world for Turkey Day in 05, and went to Thanksgiving at the Fort (aka Mickey's Backyard BBQ). Menu was buffet, traditional food (turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole). Entertainment was really good (and I'm not a country music fan) - CW band, characters dancing with kids, a bunch of fun.

Enjoy your trip!

Since you are at WDW, why not use Thanksgiving as the night to go someplace special and unusual? Boma is a great restaurant and you'll have a buffet of adventurous and tame foods to choose from. California Grill might be another great choice!

You'd probably do well at the Liberty Tree Tavern, as others said. The food is really good. If you want a character Thanksgiving meal for the kids, go to the Crystal Palace, but you have to book the day you hit 180 days out bc that fills up extremely quickly. The food is very good, and the Pooh characters come around for pics.
