Do I need to change ressies?

I've got a reservation for ChefMickey's in December for 7 people. I just found out that that 3 of the folks we were meeting will be arriving too late in the day to dine with us. Do I have to change the reservation to sit just 4? Would I have to cancel the ressie and then hope they hope have a ressie spot for 4? What do suggest?

You don't have to cancel the ADR at all for less people, but it would be fine if you called WDW dining to let them know. That way they could free up space for 3-4 other people who might have been trying to get in at that time.

I've had to reduce the number of folks on an ADR. Call prior to the trip and tell Dining you need to change the amt of people. I didn't need to cancel and rebook anything and my confirmation # stayed the same.
