We leave Friday for CBR and wondering if anyone has a recommendation for room and building location. We paid for the upgrade to the waterview room if this helps.

I look forward to any feedback!

Thanks,
Brian

We've stayed in both Jamaica and Martinique in parking lot views both times. Both were great locations but we enjoyed Jamaica just a bit more even though it was probably a bit further of a walk. We liked the walk across the bridge to Old Port Royale. Enjoy your stay - it's one of our favorite resorts!

BTW, there are no elevators at CBR so if you have anyone with mobility issues or have strollers, try to get a ground floor room.

We really enjoyed Trinidad North. Close enough to Port Royale to be considered a preferred location but still further away than the closest village so you weren't in the middle of everything. Close to the main pool and still a terrific quiet pool. We could see the fireworks each night from the quiet pool.

Trinidad North is entirely comprised of "preferred location" rooms ... this is a room category that people pay extra for and reserve because of close proximity to Old Port Royale; the other set of preferred location rooms is half of Martinique (buildings 24, 25 and 26).

So if you request Trinidad North, you are at a huge disadvantage because everyone who paid for preferred location is ahead of you in line.

Since the OP paid for a water view room, then that means it could be anywhere. Most people who don't pay for preferred location tend to like Aruba and Jamaica, mirror-image resorts that are across the lake from (and connected via bridge to) Old Port Royale.

We loved Aruba. We were in building 57 I think. There are buildings closer to the bridge to OPR but I really liked where we were. We were just across the parking lot from the bus stop, overlooked the quiet pool, had a water/beach view, were in a King room in a corner and loved it. We didn't pay for a king room but got upgraded to it upon check in. That was great!
