What is the best way to get from where Disney docks the ship In Nassau to Paradise Island? What is the cheapest way also to get there? Is there a lot to do on Paradise Island or do you recommened going other places? We were going to reserve the Beach Day at Atlantis, but I am now thinking of just planning our own excursion!

What is the best way to get from where Disney docks the ship In Nassau to Paradise Island?Best way is getting a taxi right outside the Welcome Center. It's door to door drop off.

What is the cheapest way also to get there? The cheapest is the water taxi, which can be found to the right of the Welcome Center. It's a bit of a walk though from the Paradise Island dock to the Atlantis.

Is there a lot to do on Paradise Island or do you recommened going other places?Unless you are on a planned excursion, or a guest of the hotel, then your choices are fairly limited. You can walk around the dock and see the yachts, you can shop, have something to eat and gamble in the casino. For an extra charge, you can go through the aquarium.

We were going to reserve the Beach Day at Atlantis, but I am now thinking of just planning our own excursion!Because you aren't a hotel guest, or on a Disney excursion, you won't be allowed to exit out the back of the resort to the pool or beach area.

Thanks for the info on transportation! I guess I should have worded the beach day thing differently. I have reserved the Disney Atlantis Beach day excursion (the one that includes access to the beach as well as the aquarium and includes a lunch) but I was wondering if that was fun or if I should just plan out a day of sightseeing. Sorry about the confusion.

No problem. General sightseeing around Nassau is not for everyone. The locals make their living from tourists, so they can be a bit aggressive while selling their services (hair braiding, drinks in coconuts, private tours, etc). Normally, if you're firm, say no and move along, you'll be fine. If you're a little intimidated though, it can be a bit uncomfortable.

Saying that, there is plenty within walking distance of the ship. You can shop, visit the straw market, even walk over to the public beach. We've been to Nassau many times and if we do get off the ship, it's usually just for a few hours. We try to make it back on in time for lunch and swimming while it's still quiet.

If you do get off the ship on your own, just plan your meals wisely and be sure to check your Navigator for lunch hours. Although you always have options for dining, your choices get very slim after 1 or 2 o'clock on the Nassau day.

Thank you! Have you ever done the Disney Atlantis Beach day excursion? If so, is it worth it? Or should I just walk around the local area and then relax in the ship?
