We are booked for WL deluxe room for Thanksgiving week. (There are 5 of us, so needed to book the deluxe room) We stayed in one of these rooms before on the first floor 3 years ago, and we were tucked away in a corner, with a wall right outside of our slider, so no view or access outside, even tho it was booked as a courtyard view. We usually love the first floor...but this was silly, we couldn't even walk outside from our room. Wondering if all ground floor deluxe rooms were like this..would we be better to ask for an upper floor? It said our choices are interior courtyard views, bay lake, or woodlands. I'd prefer to avoid woodlands since I'd like to feel like I got out of NJ! Thanks!

Here's some more info on the room numbers and views:

1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 ~ in the North wing at the very end of the hallway, with lake and tree views

1003, 2003, 3003, 4003, 5003 ~ also in the North wing, but offer a lake, pool and tree view

2123, 3123, 4123, 5123, 6123 ~ located mid-way down the South wing, overlooking the pool, lake and geyser (inner courtyard view)

1166, 2166, 3166, 4166, 5166 ~ at the end of the South wing, with a lake view

1169, 2169, 3169, 4169, 5169 ~ same are as the above rooms, just on the opposite corner, same lake view

You may have had one of the dormer rooms on your previous trip. These are number 2123, 3123, 1166, 1169, 2166, and 2169. You don't have any view unless you are standing up on the balcony. It sounds like you might want to request one of the X003 rooms or X166 rooms, on a high floor. Just mention your request to the IPO pre-planning staff who is helping you with your club level amenities.

I sent you a PM that I hope will help out too.

Wow Tammy! I'm impressed! How do you know all of this? All of your info was very helpful. From what you described, we must've had a dormer room. Are the junior suites/deluxe rooms (I guess their called now) all the same size? And what about the proximity to the lounge. I ask because once at AKL staying club level we were a few floors down, and waaaaaay down the end of the hallway on the Kudo trail from the lounge. We barely used it because it was just so far away.

The club level is on the 7th floor, near the lobby. The closest locations are going to be the X123 rooms.
