Sat. Aug. 16 - EPCOT - We got a decent start this morning at just after 9a, though we didn't get to see opening ceremony or rope drop. We headed straight for the The Land to experience Soarin' for the 1st time. Standby line was only 20 mins, so DS#1 and I grabbed a childswap ticket for DH and in we went. DS#1 became a little apprehensive and quiet but got on without too much worrying. He tends to not like to try new things, so we knew that WDW might be a little tough for him. I thought this ride was fantastic! I was amazed that it really felt like I was flying! When we got off, DS#1 refused to go again with his dad, so DH used his childswap and went on by himself. He also really liked this ride. After Soarin', we went to Spaceship Earth (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2873904930103944036pbcofN), I liked the new additions, but it really didn't make much of a difference for me. Next, we grabbed 3 FPs for Test Track, and 1 for Mission Space for my DH as this was his must do for this park. We had some time to kill so we headed over to check out The Seas (http://http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2757239930103944036nfoPnu)with Nemo and Friends. This is DS#1's favorite movie, so I figured it would be a big hit, and I was right, he and DS#2 LOVED it. We then wondered around SeaBase Alpha, got to see a dolphin going through its training. Really neat, especially since DS#1 loves all things related to the sea. After we saw everything in there we wanted to, we headed in to check out Turtle Talk with Crush. This was a really cute show, but probably not something I would need to see everytime. As we started to head out, it was pouring, so we grabbed some ponchos and headed over to The Land to eat at Seasons. Lunch was quite good, and we survived our 1st meal on the dining plan! While the boys and I finished eating, DH headed over to M:S (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2757239930103944036nfoPnu) and we went on Living with the Land. I have always loved this ride. The greenhouses have always interested me, I guess it's because I have such a black thumb. Shockingly DS#1 really liked it too, and he kept asking to ride it again. We met back up with DH at the fountain and headed for TT. This time DH and DS#1 rode first. When they got off, DS#1 said he really liked it, but didn't want to ride it with me. No problem. I had a really good time, and had forgotten how much fun this ride is! Next it was Journey into Imagination with Figment. Our boys did not like this ride at all! We then went and played at the jumping fountains (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2094965460103944036YgkKJI). The boys had a ton (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2359381830103944036MZgbad) of fun (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2002709460103944036TWvweF), and this is something I remember from when I went as a child. At this point we had all had enough, so we headed back to the hotel. Unfortunately, we got back just in time to leave for our ADRs at Coral Reef.

We arrived for our ADR a few mins. late, but we were still seated right away in the 1st tier of booths (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2157989330103944036EjDOMq). DH and I each got a cesear salad and the Mahi Mahi with a cashew jasmine rice and pineapple chutney. This had a very interesting flavor and was very good. The boys each got mac-n-cheese, but neither ate much. For dessert I got the Baileys & Jack chocolate mousse and DH got the key lime tart with mango sauce - he loved it, mine was only so so. This was the 1st of 2 snobby waiters we had on our trip, but the atmoshpere was fantastic. This won't be a must do for us in the future, but we would definitely go again. After supper we headed back to TT (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2962608430103944036PRuFxS) for our second set of FPs. This time DS#1 decided he would ride it with me, but the ride seemed to be having troubles, so it took a while to actually get in our car. We zipped around in the dark and by the time we were finished it was only 20 mins until Illuminations. This is our favorite nighttime show, so we decided to stay. I was really excited to see that the globe was still there, and really enjoyed getting to see Illuminations again. It is still a gorgeous show. We headed back to our room, and got back just in time to see Wishes (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2380334360103944036MqqwDN) from the Poly. WOW! (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2954190700103944036FWZqIh)This was our 1st time seeing this show, and we were really impressed. I grabbed DH and I some drinks at the poolside bar while he put the boys to bed and we finally fell into bed exhausted around 1a.

Up next: DHS & EPCOT

I am enjoying these reports very much! Waitstaff sometimes forget the power they have over a guest's day. Glad to see you brushed off the snobbishness and went ahead with a pretty darn good day.
