I just re-booked my rental car for my mid/late September trip, and Alamo's car rental prices seem to be down.

When I booked several weeks/months ago, it was running around $200+ for a week even with every discount I could find from the in-terminal agencies. I just re-booked a full-size car for $110 for the week including taxes and fees (but none of the insurance add-ons) using the Costco-Alamo discount I'd been using all along.

I've had the same experience. My original Alamo reservation for Sept 9, (8 days, Std. SUV, Costco discount) was for $337. I made it a couple of months ago and have been checking periodically. On Tuesday this week, I checked and same car, same everything was only $195. I re-booked.

I had the same thing happen as well. I was at $350 for a van from 9/16-9/21. I just re-booked same car, same co. for $100 less.

Same thing happened here. I orginally had a car from 9/8-9/15 for almost $200 and I just rebooked for $100 less. I hope that means travel is down, that would sure be nice!

After reading your post I thought what the heck.

I will check to see if the van that I have reserved has gone down in price. I pick it up tomorrow.

Well to my suprise it went up $200.00

I guess that I got a good rate. Oh! by the way I tried reserving it using my AARP discount and found that by not using the discount and just going with the straight rate it was $15.00 cheaper. I also keyed in my Costco discount code and it was the same as AARP. I found that discounts always dont work.

Have a great vacation:mickey:
