Hello intercotees! Sadly, we are home , I am sure many of you can relate to our post disney depression which seems to be worse this year than the last few years. We had a fabulous trip, it was truly magical and I think our best trip yet! Just to give you a brief background, my fiance Anthony and I are planning our disney world wedding for July 31, 2009. I started a wedding thread in the Mousellanous (sp?) thread for those of you interested in reading along. Here are the key players!
Characters:
BethanyMouse- me, 26 years old, school psychologist and full time docotral student. Dreamed of the Magic Kingdom during statistics class this year, ready for a vacation!
Anthony- Disney Fiance, 28 years old, celebrating his master's degree and a break from work and school!
We were on the disney dining plan and enjoyed some great food! We tried some new resturants and revisited our favorites! We also utilized Garden Grocer!
Day 1: August 4
My alarm went off at 2:45 am:dance:! I was so excited I jumped into the shower and quickly got ready. After I woke Anthony up, my parents drove us to the airport! On time and ready to go, our flight departed at 7:15 am, we landed in Orlando around 9:45. Dont you just love that first Orlando airport monorail ride (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008004.jpg)? YAY!!!! We are in disney world (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008003.jpg)!:clappy: We checked in at the Magical Express counter and we were immediately on our way (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008007.jpg)to the Pop Century! I absolutely LOVE the movie on the ME bus, but I think it is because we are in DISNEY!!!!:cloud9:
We checked in at the Pop and they offered us an upgrade we told them we were planning our disney world wedding, there were none currently available so we were told to call later for our room number, we appreciated the offer anyway! We were raring to go, so off we went to ride the MK bus to go to Kona Cafe for lunch. I didnt want to see the castle until we walked down main street so I tried to aviod looking at it until then!
Let me just say that the Polynesian is my favorite resort. I love the smell of it and the entire feel it gives. I wish I could bottle up that feeling and bring it home with me. Kona for lunch was great. Anthony had the Asian noodle dish (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008015.jpg) and I had the turkey BLT (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=CopyofDisneyWorld2008016.jpg) on multigrain bread, minus the bacon. Both were delicious and we were hungry, our 5 am breakfast was long gone! After filling our bellies it was time to go to the Magic Kingdom. We hopped the monorail and before we knew it we were on main street usa.....there is no place better in the entire world if you ask me. I saw the castle (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008018.jpg) and of course it still makes me tear up! What a beautiful moment!
We decided to stop and get some pics with Rafiki before heading over to ride the rides. We fastpassed Splash Mountain which had an 80 minute wait, then we went off to ride the Haunted Mansion. The wait time posted was 35 minutes, but we waited only about 20, it ended up breaking down in one of the new scenes for a bit, but hey at least it was airconditioned! We were both very impressed with the updates. After dancing with the ghouls we went over to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz, Anthony won. We also rode the TTA, Laugh Floor, Stitch, POTC, and got some pics with Hook and Smee, Pluto (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008037.jpg), and Stitch (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008033.jpg)! By now it was dinner time and we were hungry! We decided to head to Pecos bill. I got a grilled chicken wrap and Anthony went with the pulled pork sandwich. Both were very good. We were starting to get a bit tired, after being up since 3 am so we rode Splash and then went back to the POP. We found out our room was in the 70's building (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l134/bethanymouse/Disney%20world%202008/?action=view¤t=DisneyWorld2008038.jpg), which we had never been in before. We were room 6222, facing the lake. It ended up being the perfect location and we wondered if it was an upgrade? Still not sure. Garden grocer had delivered while we were out and our luggage was there as well. After unpacking we went into the pool for a bit. I should mention the bounceback promo was in our room when we arrived, it offered us 30% off a moderate or deluxe if we booked before we left, but it was only good until mid December.
We went to bed by 11 because tomorrow morning was EMH Magic Kingdom! Thanks for reading!
