So I was suppose to be camping at FW today thru Sunday, but had to change the plans yesterday. Now I'll be going next weekend. So it got me thinking. The rest up my family is there this weekend and I was wondering what they were up to. I check and see what the weather is currently. Its 1:00pm on Friday afternoon. It's 85 degrees but says it feels like 92. I can think of nothing better that sitting on a bench, looking around and having a Dole Whip. Now I gotta wait another week. I guess I'll have to have two next week for everyone of you that can't make it.

I was at our local ice cream store last night when I noticed their sign for a "pineapple float" which they described as vanilla soft-serve with pineapple juice.

I was so tempted but knew I'd only end up disappointed. Only 32 more days....

If you have a ice cream maker I found a recipe for making a dole whip. I haven't tried it making it but it sounds good.

The Dole Whip

Ingredients
1 quart pineapple juice (Dole)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups cream
3 cups sugar
milk

Directions
1Mix the pineapple juice and sugar -- make sure that the sugar is dissolved.
2Next add the cream and vanilla.
3Pour the whole mixture into the Ice Cream freezer container.
4Add milk to finish filling to the "fill line".
5At this point simply follow the instructions on your ice cream maker.
6When the ice cream is ready you can serve it as is --
7or you can stick it in the freezer for a while and let it set up a bit.

I just saw too that Intercot has a Dole Whip recipe that doesn't use an ice cream maker. http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/recipes/dolewhip.asp
