Ok, I'm going tomorrow (Wednesday) to look at a location for my wedding reception. We aren't going to get married until Sept 2010. We are going to go to Disney World for part of our honeymoon. Historically they have offered the free dining in August/September. Who knows if they will be offering it in 2010 but I want to book my wedding date earlier in the month (ideally Sept 10) so that if they do offer the free dining, we will def get to WDW while it is still going on. My question is, historically when has the free dining ended in September? I have looked at the historic discounts but nothing specifically said "free dining period". I just want to know what dates I can work with if Sept 10 is not available for some reason. Thanks so much for your help!

Historically speaking, Disney has offered the free dining starting the last week of August through mid-september.

The offer started in 2005 and they have done it every year, although it has for a shorter time period as the years have gone by.

I am hoping for the free dining next year, it comes out the second week of April. Be on the lookout!
It is a signifigant savings for my family, enough to put up with the crowds!

Thanks princessgirls! I knew it was sometime in September, but I was looking for a more specific date historically, does anyone know of specific end dates?

Try looking in the past updates section of Intercot under "news". (to the right on your screen) If you look back under April for the past couple of years, the free dining anouncements should be there.

I believe in 2005, the first time they offered the Free DDP, it ended the first Friday of October. This caused a bit of a stir because it slightly overlapped the beginning of the F&WF.

Since then, I believe they cut it off the same weekend that the F&WF begins - typically the last Friday in September.

It's hard to be more specific due to schedule changes, but your Sept. 10 time frame should be well within the Free DDP period, if offered at all.

Historically, has the free dining only happened in late Aug-Sept and announced in April?

ok another question. is it true that if you arrive at disney the last day the free dining is offered, that you still get the free dining for the whole trip? i'm just trying to figure out an alternate date, possibly sept 17 and go to disney on sept 20, if we can't get the sept 10 wedding date.

This year it was offered til 9/20 & as long as you checked in by 9/20 your dining is free the whole stay. We are doing 9/18-9/24 with free dining the whole stay. Have fun planning.

Here are the historic dates this promotion has been availble since it's first year in 2005 (these are the dates it was available to US residents):

8/21/2005 to 10/4/2005
8/13/2006 to 9/30/2006
8/28/2007 to 9/22/2007
8/24/2008 t0 9/20/2008

If my memory serves if you check in my the last day of the prmotion you can add up to 10 additional nights.
