I know several people posted questions about the photo sessions that can be scheduled at the resorts, so I just wanted to share our experience...

We did a photo session back in 2002, which was about double the price, but pics were taken at the Magic Kingdom at three different spots, and we received a really pretty portfolio full of pictures. I will admit that I am probably spoiled by that experience... but...

We had our family pictures done at the Polynesian, and I was really disappointed. The photog kind of snapped at our special needs DS, and so our little DS was crabby for most of our photo session. I can't necessarily blame the photog for DS's moodiness, but he didn't help.

Some of the pictures that were taken outside where shadowy - to the point that we had to use our Adobe software from home to balance out our oldest son's face. Disappointing.

We took full advantage of having the CD, though, and ended up with 130-ish pictures on our CD by the end of the week. Having pictures from that water parks is really a bonus to buying the CD.

Overall, I think having the CD is great; but I don't think I'd recommend doing a family photo shoot. The backdrop of the waterfall, a palm tree, and the hammock were pretty, but not worth the time and $ invovled. We actually went back with our camera later and took some REALLY great shots of our boys. I think we may even have our Christmas card ready to go!!!

I would recommend buying the CD of the pictures, though. It was really convenient, and being able to print pictures at Walgreens or CVS is going to be great!!!

Sorry that your photo experience wasn't all you wanted it to be. I have to be honest and say that I didn't even know that was available :secret:! Well I hope you got some great shots, whether from the shoot or on your own.

Thanks for the info. We'd like to do the family session, but don't want to take the time out of our trip. I think we'll be happy w/ just the photopass pics on CD. :mickey:

Thanks for reporting on the photo shoot process. I'm hoping your experience wasn't typical but you, perhaps, just ended up with an inept cast member/photographer.

Glad you were able to get better shots on your own to make up for it!

Thanks for sharing. I often consider doing this, but I agree, sometimes you can get really great shots on your own!
