Ok, I have friends, but what do I do with them?

I have gotten many friends on My Profile, but I don't know what to do with them. I tried to send a message to one of them, but apparently they didn't get it. What can I do with them and how can I keep the friendships?

Some people don't check the private messages, or know to look to see if they have one. I'm not sure what you can do with your friends, really, it's just nice to know you have them. I do send and receive PMs to and from friends on occasion, but from other INTERCOTees, too. There are a lot of people who aren't added to my friends list but I still consider them friends. I should add more, but that area is new to me, too.
