Does anyone know why WDW chose to outsource the food court at CSR? I know its a convention resort, but that shouldn't make a difference, CR and GF are too, but they don't outsource.

Also, does anyone know if there are plans to assume control of the food court in the future?

We are staying there in 11 days. When you say that they outsource the food...how does that effect the guests?

I have heard that the food is great at CSR. Did you have a bad experience?

Not that it matters, but our family LOVES the CSR Food court.... what other resort can you have such a diversified choice of foods for what suits your mood? Italian, american, chinese, etc.? Maya grill is higher end with exceptional food with exceptional cost for same, and they simply have enlarged "convenience" foods area to offer a more rounded amount of food and drink for the various types of us who are there! The new night club (old Francisco's bar) is very upscale with foods ordered coming from Pepper Market and or Maya.

Our family has no quams with the service or the food.

It really doesn't.

The only way it's even been indirectly noticeable is with the refillable mugs. Disney recently changed from resort-specific mugs to generic mugs for all resorts. It used to be you could only get refills at the resort where you bought it, but now it's okay to get refills at any WDW resort (but the rule still stands that the refillable mug can only be used during the stay in which you purchased it -- you still aren't permitted to bring it back on a future vacation).

The only exception to the above is CSR's Pepper Market. They still sell the CSR refillable mug, which can only be refilled at CSR, and you can't use another resort's mug to refill at CSR. This is because Pepper Market is owned and run by an outside vendor that does not want to enter into a reciprocal agreement with the WDW resorts at-large regarding refillable mugs.

Does this "outsourcing" mean that they don't serve that nasty Nescafe coffee?? :coffee:

The Pepper MArket has been run by an outside vendor from the beginning as are the Maya Grill and Sietas. It has no effect on the guests except for as CleveRocks mentioned, the refillable mugs are not part of the YOMD mugs.

CSR has their own bakery so all the bread items are made fresh. You won't find a better value CS location on the DDP.

I have to agree. When we went in 2006 on the DDP, it was the first place we ate (because we got in so late). We couldn't believe all the high-end food we could eat for just a CS credit. It's one of the main reasons we're going back to Coronado this year.

OH. MY GAWD at those pics.

I myself have two questions.

1) Are we there yet?
2) Time to eat yet?

This will be my first year at CSR and I'm "too excited to sleep!"

From the looks of the food, it appears that the outsourcing is a good thing. I've never eaten there, and I had no idea that the food variety was so vast. I'm now interested in staying there in the future.
