Sorry to hear this....There have been a few posts regarding airlines and schedule changes.

We go in November and I am checking weekly now for changes.

We had flights with airtran change last year. We called customer service and and they were very accomodating to us and changed us to flights that worked better for us.

Here's to hoping there are no more changes!!

This is going to happen a lot more often as all Airlines keep adjusting to the fast rising cost of doing business.

Please try to stay patient and keep track of your flight reservation on a regular basis.

Call your airline if you see your flight has changed and politely request their assistance in your schedule and they will bend over backwards for you. :D

I have an Air Tran flight booked out of Denver to Atlanta for November and have had a schedule change already as well. As airlines move to consolidate flights, we may see more of this as they wish to fly full planes rather than several half empty flights.

Like everyone has said, best bet is to keep an eye on your reservation!

That is getting more and more common every day. I had my original flight from MSP to MCO on Sun Country. First the flight was changed by 2 hrs both in & out bound, then a week later cancelled all together. Then rebooked on Air Tran and 1 week before the departure the MSP to MCO flight changed from 9AM to 2PM for that day, so I was lucky enough to change the day and added 1 more day to my vacation.

I dont see this getting any better now or into the future, so we should just get used to it!

Wow, it looks like we are now at the mercy of the airlines.:( Our Airtran departure flight did not change, but our retuning flight changed by just a little bit.

Will they give credit or rebook at a different time if you complain? My flight moved from morning to afternoon.... to me that is hard to justify.

We had a 8:51 am flight that was changed to 7:15 am. Now we have to be up extra early, but I'd rather have that than a late flight. Our flight home was only changed by 15 minutes. I hope they don't change again.

Same thing happen here. Going they changed us from 8:30am to 1:20pm. Coming home they changed us from 6:30pm to 10:15am. I am very upset about the change. Oh and we also had to change the airport because they are no longer flying from our airport which is only about 10 min. from our house. Not happy at all.:fit:

:mickey:We have a flight out of BWI in Oct. to MCO with AirTran. I am wondering, do they notify those passengers who already have reservations or do you have to keep checking for changes?

I was not notified either time. Someone heard it on our local news and called me. (about them not flying from our airport) Some people have said that they did get a e-mail but I have not.

We had booked a flight with Delta last year, leaving at noon because we had a 7 week old and a 4 year old and did'nt want to have to drag them out of bed before the crack of dawn. Well, they changed our flight to something like 7am and tough luck to us! And from what I gather it is only getting worse and worse. And if you don't like it too bad!!

Last year when i was going on a cruise and they changed my flight times several times i was notified every time. This time I was not ever notified once. Which upset me. I just happened to be double checking our ressies after coming home from the beach last week and discovered the change. I went back through all of my email and not a single email came from them. If they change my flight again I am pretty sure I am going to be royally jacked.

This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry made reservations with the rental car company:

Agent: I'm sorry, we have no mid-size available at the moment.
Jerry: I don't understand, I made a reservation, do you have my reservation?
Agent: Yes, we do, unfortunately we ran out of cars.
Jerry: But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the
reservation.
Agent: I know why we have reservations.
Jerry: I don't think you do. If you did, I'd have a car. See, you know how to
take the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation and
that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody
can just take them.
Agent: Let me, uh, speak with my supervisor.
The agent goes into an office with a window in the door so she can be seen
speaking with someone.
Jerry: Uh, here we go. The supervisor. You know what she's saying over there?
Elaine: What?
Jerry: Hey Marge, you see those two people over there? They think I'm talking
to you, so you pretend like you're talking to me, okay now you start talking.
Elaine: Oh, you mean like this? So it looks like I'm saying something but I'm
not really saying anything at all?
Jerry: Now you say something else and they won't yell at me 'cause they thought
I was checking with you.
Elaine: Okay, that's it. I think that's enough, see you later.
The agent returns.
Agent: I'm sorry, my supervisor says there's nothing we can do.
Jerry: Yeah, it looked as if you were in a real conversation over there.
Agent: But we do have a compact if you would like that.
Jerry: Fine.
Agent: Alright. We have a blue Ford Escort for you Mr. Seinfeld. Would you
like insurance?
Jerry: Yeah, you better give me the insurance, because I am gonna beat the hell
out of this car.
Agent: Please fill this out.

Last year when they did this to us, we called them and told them their flight changes did not go with our travel plans, and we were given our money back.

As anyone had any luck with doing this this year??

They changed our two non-stop flights to one stops, and we DO NOT do layovers.

Anyone?

Our return flight last year was changed from a non-stop to a lay over flight in Atlanta. It was also moved to an earlier flight which meant less time in WDW that day.
I didn't receive any notices from Airtran this year but decided to check anyway. Sure enough our non-stop return flight on Sept 9th is once again a lay over in Atlanta. and also departing 1 hour earlier. I'm sure this will change at least 3 more times before the actual date.

What really made things annoying last year was the fact that it changed 3 times before we even left for WDW which wasn't that big of a deal. But it also changed again while we were there and I didn't know until we tried to use the airline check in at Pop and they said there's no info for us for that particular flight. So I had to call the airline to get our up to date info in order to use the check in service.

I checked my Airtran flight schedule after reading this post, and sure enough, instead of arriving at 12:35 it was changed to 2:57! I called and switched flights (one day eariler) at no cost. She informed me that since it was their schedule change, I could change mine at no cost. I just hope there isn't any more changes until I go. I also read on their website that after Dec 18, 2008 that "routes and schedules are subject to change". Of course I'm going in Jan.

Glad to hear that it can be changed. If they cannot get us on a non-stop on those days, and at the times we want, then we will not fly with them, that's that.

Keep checking your flights! Our non-stop return flight (early Oct, Orlando to Phila) was dropped from their schedule recently. Fortunately we checked and called asap; we're now booked on an earlier non-stop- less time at WDW but still not too bad (and the same price). However, if we had not been pro-active (and instead waited for them to get around to notifying us about the change), all the non-stops might have been booked. Other airlines seem to notify you every time the flight has any change (even if just a few minutes); Air Tran didn't notify us (at least not yet!). On-line, our ressie was marked "referred to marketing" (as if someone there might eventually notify us?).

Well my AirTran flight changed again this morning for the 3rd time. I called and they said they would refund our money. But I just keep changing our plans. At this point I am so confused I dont even know what time our flights our. I still have 5 months so I am sure they will change again.

My flights got changed too. My arriving date was pushed back almost 2 hours. I could have called and asked to be reaccomadated, but the earlier non-stop would require us to take my daughter out of school early and I'm already taking her out a few days for this trip.

I also checked my seat assignments (paid to pick) and while they are all still together they changed to a larger plane and I was on the wing. With a window seat I want to see more than the wing so I changed my seat assignments.

This is just all so unethical. I am seriously not someone who complains about rules/regulations/business practices often, but this just SCREAMS :soapbox::fit: of bad business practices. It's truly ridiculous.

It's not bad business..... it's called survival !

And it's going to get worse. Some airlines will shut down while others will cut down on the number of flights. We've already seen them change the schedule to get the best chance of filling every flight ! Next it will be over book flights intentionally and leave passengers behind.

What's our options as passengers ?? Try to work through the system or drive your car there.

It doesn't do any good to get mad at them. Sorry. :(

All direct flights from DFW were cancelled (ours) for Sept. so we got rescheduled on some random flights. I called and politely asked to be rescheduled on a better flight. They did it with no problem.

I've had other flights rescheduled in the past on American, so this really didn't bother me. I just wish I could have gotten a direct flight.

I've never had a flight to NOT change. Last year, they send us home an hour earlier.

Year before, we flew to Vegas, they changed it FOUR TIMES.

At this point, as long as I get to where I"m going, I'm happy.

I just read a Wall Street Journal article (online) that discusses this problem with the airlines. Apparently, it will get worse in the fall. It seemed like they kept talking about Delta.

Connections are especially bad for people going to Disneyworld b/c we tend to have small kids.

I called this morning... they will either switch me to a different flight(of my choice) that day or the day before or after. I am just concerned that that flight will change too, ya know... they would give me a refund credit to my account. So i didn't do anything yet..... guess it is all a guess with them. Should probably just wait and book with southwest, they don't change their times.

All this talk about changing flights kind of got me nervous, so I checked our Jetblue ressies. Other than a 7 minute change, which I think is normal fluctuation, no problems. Kinda surprised I didn't get an email, though. Two trips ago we flew them and every single time change - even if it was just a minute different - resulted in an email to me. It got kind of comical after a while, but I appreciated the gesture.

Well thanks to Intercot I checked our flights again and they dropped my husbands late afternoon flight and dropped our coming home flight!!
They did however give my husband an earlier flight with me and the kids but we now lose 4 hrs the day we come home I am soo mad:blowup:
Why do they even sell tickets early if the times change. I have always flown Southwest and now I know why--This is what I get for trying to save some money!!

We experienced the flight time changes several times last September with Airtran. It was changed so drastically that it interfered with one of our ADRs on that Thursday. So, I just called and told them of our situation. They changed our departure to the next day (Friday) without a fee. Yeah, another day at Disney!

The agent said if they make a change to your flight time which varies by 2 hours, then they will adjust your flight to your benefit without a charge. This was great for us. We only had to pay for an additional day of hotel and the minimal increase to add one more park day. The food was free since it was during the dining plan. :mickey:

We were actually HAPPY when THEY made changes to our flight times. We knew we wanted to stay the extra day. We had tried to change our departure to Friday before they altered our schedule and they told us it was going to cost us about $400 to make the change. With the additional hotel night and additional park admission, it actually only cost our family of four slightly less than $100 for another day of fun! So, yes...we made lemonade from sour lemons. :D
