Driving from Illinois...

Anyone out there done this in the last few weeks?

Just wondering what we should be on the lookout for - like construction, bad places to stop, etc.

Any advice would be great! We'll be pulling out of the driveway early Saturday morning! :yay:

Probably take I-65 to I-24 to I-75

Southern Nashville through Chattanooga are good to go! When you get to the Manchester-Tullahoma exit on I24 wave and holler! I'll be thinking of you!

I recently saw a post recently about Atlanta construction. I am not the "expert" but I forwarded the post to my DD(ad) and he said we would definitely want to bypass Atlanta. We typically try to get there off-rush hour and drive thru Atlanta rather than bypass the city.

The post was mid to late last week on this board, I think!

Please post how the drive was when you return. We will be driving down (very close to the same route) in early July!

the 75/85 connector downtown has paving at night north and south bound.
take 285 west around town.
be careful, the west ramp goes to the left, backwards from what you think, so read the signs.:thumbsup:
