Ok, they say that the height requirement is 40" to get on Splash Mountain.

My question is the measuring stick at the entrance is this an exact 40" or do they have it slight higher to account for sneakers and such.

Before I get beat up about this, I realize that this is for safety. I am just trying to figure out if my son will get on or not as he is just under 40" without the sneakers and just over with.

Please help if you can. Thanks.

When they measure, you have to be 40"+, and that is with shoes on (but hair is not taken into account). So it is exactly 40".

I was actually going to ask the same question. DD is about 47 1/4 inches barefoot but with an average pair of sneakers, Crocs, or a pair of thicker soled (but not high-heeled, just thicker than those cheap thin soled ones) flip-flops, she is just a bit over 48 inches. I figured we'll just have to see when we get there but we're hoping that she makes the mark - she was measured at 48 inches at Kennywood - our local amusement park in an average pair of sneakers. I assume that they took shoes into consideration when setting the height requirements. I don't want to cheat the system - her safety is far more important than a ride on a roller coaster.

My kid is definitely wearing big shoes. I really want her to go on Splash.

I've heard that if the shoes are obviously very large, the CMs can have the kids take them off to measure.

DD turns 5 on Sunday, and she just hit 40" a few months ago. It was like a party here the day we measured! She's so excited to go on Splash! :mickey:

Height measurement is with shoes...and on most disney rides 3/4 of an inch is not going to be a safety issue anyway...for most of them are tamer than the rides at Six flags or Kennywood where there is a more elaborate harnessing system where the height issue can really come into play.

Our 3 yr old just passed 40" with his Crocs on yesterday. He wants primarily to do Splash Mountain so we're giving him lots of protein to gain a half inch or so in the next 2 weeks :mickey:

When we went in Dec 06 my dd5 was right at 40 inches. She was turned away from Splash Mt, but was able to ride TOT, BTMRR, Dinosaur and TT. I don't think the one at Splash Mt is accurate. Just be prepared.:mickey:
