Is there an additional fee for swimming with the sharks at Typhoon Lagoon?

No charge unless you want "private time". Then they have a second tank in which I believe they have an air assisted snorkle. That one you get something like 20-30 minutes to snorkle around on your own...that one you pay for.

I recommend the private time...last time we tried without it and we waited FOREVER...the park was very crowded that day though so I am sure that had something to do with it

We went this past trip, 1st week in May and it was nice. You just grab you mask and snorkel and walk up. We only waited for instruction then were able to go right up. My 9 year old did it too for the first time and loved it. Saw lots of sharks and sting rays! Worth doing once!

How long is the private session and how much is it?

This is the first I've heard about a private snorkeling opportunity. IMO the regular one is fine. Once you get beyond the little island about 10 yards from the starting point, you can go at your own pace and take as much time as you want. Also, I've never experienced any wait at all. (3 different times) Either way, have an excellent time!!

That is good to know. We have never been to Typhoon Lagoon and my son wants to do this swimming with the sharks.
