We had this trip planned long before the Christmas trip. The last trip we took Amtrak. This trip we took Delta. We had a really good time on this trip but sadly we had to come home. Our friend, Jim joined us for our last week. I will be doing this story in parts since it is a long story so sit back & relax. I hope you enjoy this story.

Cast: Jamie [Me] 31. Celebrating her 32nd birthday a month early. Also celebrating 7th wedding anniversary.

Louis- My 60 year old husband not celebrating his birthday this trip. Sorry.

Jim- Our Disney Loving Friend. Staying off property & renting a car.

Dates: April 14-May 3. Just the two of us. Jim stayed April 26-May 3.

Resort: We stayed at Pop Century Resort in the 60's. Jim stayed off property at Home Suite Home.

April 14- We had to get up at 5:00 a.m. so we could do some leftover last minute packing & take our vitamins. I also had to take Aleve & Benadril because not only did I have a small cold but we decided to fly to Disney this time. I haven't flown since 9/11. The Benadril really kicked in & started to relax me, which was great. We took car service to LGA. He dropped us off at the Delta terminal. We did curbside checking which was really nice. Then Louis got in a wheelchair. The escort took us to Security which was a breeze. She took us to Burger King so we could have breakfast. We took our breakfast to the waiting area. Before you know it we were on our plane. We had a really smooth flight too.

We landed at MCO. As soon as we landed and got off the plane, Louis was supposed to get a wheelchair escort which didn't happen. We had to walk for quite a distance too to get to the Magical Express area. This is when the magic started.

I really loved the Magical Express because as soon as we got to the desk area the person at the desk told us where to go. She even took us over to the Magical Express bus which was actually a Cruise Line bus. We had a really nice bus driver. He told us a little about Disney & showed us a video on a small TV. We didn't even have to get our luggage at the baggage carousel because the night before we put on a yellow sticker which tells the people that we would be taking Magical Express. This was really nice. We got to Pop Century resort first. The Magical Express is also FREE!!! This is what I call Magic.

As soon as we were dropped off we went to the check in desk to check ourselves in. This is where we had to get our hotel information, birthday buttons, anniversary buttons & our resort key. The hotel information they give you are maps to each of the 4 parks, water parks & Downtown Disney. They also give you a map of Pop Century & circle where you will be staying. A birthday & anniversary button is a little smaller than a saucer. The birthday button has your name on it. Your resort key is what you use to purchase items such as food & souvenirs. Louis also had to get his ECV which is an Electric Convenience Vehicle. Its a scooter for people who can't walk too long or too far. Its really handy.

We got to our room which was on the ground floor. It was very quiet. Our door was facing a huge 8 track tape. On the other side around the corner was the Hippy Dippy Pool where a big statue of Baloo & Mowgli are standing. Across from them are a huge Play Doh canister with cute play doh animals poking out of it. We loved our room because we were close to the dining area & bus area. At this time I haven't walked around & checked it out yet.

We were really hungry so we decided to go to Downtown Disney to eat at Earl Of Sandwich. We loved this place the last time & vowed to go again. This time it wasn't as crowded. We each got our own Cannonball sandwich. Its like a meatball sub you would get at Subway but better. After eating we decided to walk around for awhile. I noticed Ghiradelli's was closed. I was disappointed & hoped they would be open before our leave date.

After Downtown Disney, we went back to our resort. We went to Pop Everything Dining which is the area where you would get breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks. We got our refillable mugs which lets you get free refills throughout your stay on Soda, coffee, hot chocolate & icees. I had heard so much about the tie dyed cheesecake so I got that. Its a cheesecake that is dyed in different colors. It was good. Louis got a Mickey Bar which is an ice cream bar in the shape of a Mickey head.

We went back to our room for the night & guess what, our luggage was there waiting for us. It was magic, thanks to the Magical Express.

That's all for day one. Any questions or comments?
