THE CAST
ME - Kristen - 37 - Huge Disney fan - I eat sleep and dream about all things Disney. So fanatical that I drive Ben nuts with my constant talk of disney this and disney that.

DH - Ben - 43 - Fell in love with Disney on his very first trip (for our wedding at the Poly in 2006). He loved it so much, he bought me DVC for our wedding. Infatuated with pins, buying mostly, but will trade on occasion.

DD - Katy - 17 - Loves Disney almost as much as I do. She takes care of our DGD everyday while her mommy (Jenn) works.

DGD - Keara - 19 months - Loves Lella (Cinderella), Mickey, Tinkerbell and Pooh.

DisneyWhirled - Karen
DWHubby - John
Colby - 9
Kaylee - 5

Saturday - May 17th - Holy Cow, we over slept. My alarm didn't go off at 7am like I set it. It’s 7:36, Ben has to be at LBV before 8:30 for tee time and Katy, Keara and myself were supposed to meet Karen and the kids at DHS for EMH at 8am. Well, that isn’t going to happen. Luckily, showers had been taken last night. Ben bails out of Bed, get’s ready and heads out the door. Well, he forgot his new room key and he forgot some sunblock, something he will come to regret later on. I call Karen and tell her we’ll just meet her at the Studios. She tells me we didn't miss much, so not to feel bad. We meet up and were going to watch HSM2, but they cancel the first show at 10, due to unforeseen circumstances, they never told us why, just the unforeseen stuff. So, we head for Playhouse Disney and wait in line for about 20 minutes. This was fun. This was our first time seeing the show and it was great. The only problem I had was everyone has to sit on the floor. My bones didn’t like that, but, oh well, it was fun anyway. We head for the Animations and see Mushu. I always love that little dragon and his tongue thing. We then exit the show and see Sorcerer Mickey (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2094285260042804337RFeAoO). Keara gives him a kiss and then plays shy. We then see The Incredibles (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2709623670042804337azBKds) and she cries, she is scared of them. We ask about Ratatouille, who’s stage is still there, but the character handler says they haven’t been out since January. We walk through the shop at the end and I find this fabulous picture (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2105148740042804337TaYRTM) for Ben. We head out of there and go to lunch at Pizza Planet. Pizza and salad again. I think I am seeing a pattern beginning. I sure hope this doesn’t continue. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love pizza as much as anyone, but two days in a row, that’s enough for me. After lunch we head for Mickey Boulevard hoping they were doing a soft opening for Toy Story Mania. The wall was all closed up with no one around. We later found out they had been doing soft openings today, but we just missed them. RATS!! If we had gone in from the Little Mermaid side, we probably would have caught it, but we were on the backlot side. So we head for the backlot tour and then refreshments. We are heading toward Sunset Blvd for some shopping when the guys call us to say they are now inside the gate. We meet up with them, OH MY GOODNESS, You can spot the two of them a mile away. Ben and John have on the exact same bright red shirts that Karen and I bought at Target. They didn't plan this, and neither did we. Too funny! They got teased mercifully by several CMs. Ben has a golfer's burn as he didn't put on any sunblock. From his knees to his ankles, were his socks start, he is lobster red, matching his and John's shirts. His face, neck and arms are burned as well, but not nearly as bad. He’s in a bit of pain, so we look for solarcaine ('cuz I forgot the aloe with lidocaine in it) as well as still looking for my crocs and a visor. The shops sell the gel and the solarcaine spray, that's good. Ben dopes up with the spray and feels instant relief. Karen and I both get matching white visors with Disney written on it. We knew we needed the visors as we both were suffering from sun induced headaches. The guys scope out a place to watch the block party and we do a little shopping on Sunset Blvd. We look for crocs and once we enter the candy shop, we’re done. Chocolate Covered strawberries!! YUMMY!! I love them. We go back just in time for the bash to begin. Keara was playing peak (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2962192720042804337OEEpku)-a-boo (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2979120360042804337QsnBkC) while we were gone. We get Monsters Inc (http://travel.webshots.com/album/563605222jxyRHj?start=48)right in front of us. It’s a great party. I understand there are three different sections to the show depending upon where you stand. We were right on the main street just before you take the right onto Sunset Blvd. I got 18 minutes of video, which took half my battery. After the block party, we head for RnRC. Well, some of us. Ben, Karen, Keara and Kaylee head for Beauty and the Beast show as none of them will ride. Katy, John, Colby and myself take a 70 minutes stand by on RnRC. We actually only waited 50 minutes and then asked for the front car. It was blast as always! The pictures at the end were not working, so they sent us to the counter where you purchase. Got a quick look and then headed out. We have O’Hana ressies in 45 minutes, so we gotta boogie!!

Once on the Poly bus we arrive with just a few minutes to spare. We check in, telling them it’s Colby’s birthday celebration, and take Keara to the restroom to freshen up. The beeper is going off before we exit the restroom, but the folks are waiting ever so patiently for us. We are seated and food is coming quickly. I must admit I am disappointed the potatoes are no longer served. We had pork pot stickers, chicken wings, broccoli, lo main noodles, coconut pineapple bread, steak, turkey, pork, shrimp and of course, bread pudding. They bring Colby a cupcake and we sing to him. He loved it. Ben orders a Lapu Lapu (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2495429650042804337KAPrTq), John has a green treasure drink and Karen and I both order Pina Colavas (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2027583350042804337yGwqHe)! Behind my drink, you can see a plate full of sesame chicken wings, these are MY FAVORITE!! Katy has a sour apple freeze and an Evian. Keara hangs with Aunt Karen (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2746825140042804337kUhevu), here is John with Colby (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2201343640042804337FElNEW). This is a great picture (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2703737080042804337NxsBTs) of the lobby.

I decide I can’t take it another minute. I wear crocs at home every day; work, shopping, walking, I am not comfy in my sneakers so I need my crocs. Se, I just bought another black pair because they don’t have the pink ones I want. So, we finally get my feet happy! WOOHOO!! I guess I’ll have to go on the crocs website and see what they have available. Hopefully a pink pair.

We walk out to The Pointe (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2506320600042804337kFwoba) to get our picture taken. We got married here, so we take the shot each time we visit. This brings back some awesome memories!! What a beautiful view (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2022675940042804337YlHkLa). We contemplate heading to MK, but decide to head for the room. Ben is wiped out with his sunburn and Karen’s family wants a swim. So we head off in taxi cabs. $20 later (tip included) we are back at OKW.

This will be the earliest night as we are in our room around 8 and Ben hit’s the shower and Keara gets a bath. I sit and type up reports and will turn in early.

Next up -- Early morning breakfast at Crystal palace.

And, do we have pizza again?

The rush you were in to start your day certainly was not a fun way to start but things certainly got better from there! Great pics! Keara is really a cutie!

Don't you just hate when you oversleep? At least Ben made the tee time although that burn certainly looks rather painful. Too bad about Toy Story Mania - hopefully you make it there later in the trip? I'll have to have you point out the spot to see the Monsters, Inc part of the block party - I love Boo and that's actually Meg's nickname.

We were located on the main street coming in between Crossroads and Sunset Blvd (The street that you take the right onto toward ToT). We were against the wall at one of the shops facing the Tower.

Oh no, sunburn! But that's so funny about the matching shirts. And you got your crocs! Not pink, but it's good to have happy feet.
